The new Beijing Municipal Domestic Waste Management Regulations, which came into effect on May 1, 2020, incorporate domestic waste management into grassroots social governance.
The regulations clearly stipulate:
1, street offices and township people's governments should incorporate the management of domestic waste into grass-roots social governance work, organize and guide residents' committees and villagers' committees to incorporate the requirements of waste classification into the residents' convention or village rules and regulations.
2, city and district governments and their relevant departments, street offices, township governments should support and encourage volunteers, volunteer organizations and other types of social organizations to carry out the classification of household garbage put publicity, demonstration and other activities, to participate in the management of household garbage.
3. At the same time, support for environmental sanitation, recycling economy, property management, tourism hotels, catering and cooking, housekeeping services, commercial retailing and other related industry associations to develop industry self-regulation norms, industry training and evaluation, *** with the participation and promotion of domestic waste management.

Regulations distinguish between units of office or production and business premises, residential areas and natural villages, other public **** place of the three types of areas, respectively, the setup of the requirements of the refinement.
(1) for residential areas and natural villages: required to set up food waste, other garbage collection containers in groups, and at least one garbage drop-off point to set up recyclables, hazardous waste collection containers.
