Introduction of Jimei Aoyuan is located in the southeast corner of Jimei, covering an area of nearly 9000 square meters. Originally an island on the southeast coast of Jimei, there was a small temple called Aotou Palace, also known as Li Qian Palace, which was built by Mr. Chen Jiageng in 1950 in ten years. It consists of three parts: the porch, the Jimei Liberation Monument and Mr. Chen Jiageng's mausoleum.
The design of the porch is exquisite and free and easy, and the wall of the hatchback is engraved with serial group carvings. In the center of the park stands the "Jimei Liberation Monument", with the inscription by President Mao Zedong on the front and Mr. Chen Jiageng on the back. The whole monument is 28.6 meters high and is made of granite. The pedestal has two floors, the lower steps have eight floors, and the upper steps have three floors, symbolizing the eight-year war of resistance and the three-year war of liberation, surrounded by blue stone pillars.
To the south of the monument is Mr. Chen Jiageng's mausoleum, which is now a national key cultural relics protection unit. The tombstone is made of Shuimo granite and engraved with the words of gold-plated official script. The tomb is shaped like a tortoise, the tomb pool is shaped like a horseshoe, and the top cover is made of thirteen pieces of water-milled bluestone. The left, right and back sides of the tomb are covered with bluestone screens, and there are fifteen relief portraits of Mr. Chen Jiageng's important experience in the first half of his life. The sacrificial pavilion in front of the tomb and the wall behind the tomb are carved with bluestone, which is elegant and solemn. The stone carvings in Aoyuan are divided into relief, shadow carving and tablet carving.
The low walls, railings, pavilions and columns in the Olympic Garden are engraved with poems and couplets inscribed by party and state leaders and celebrities from all walks of life, praising Mr. Chen Jiageng's spirit and morality. It also brings together the essence of Minnan stone carving and shows the superb artistic level of China stone carving, so it has the reputation of Minnan stone carving museum.
