Haidilao was established in 1994, is a chain brand to operate the main Sichuan hot pot, the founder is Zhang Yong.

October 2004, Sichuan Province, Jianyang City, Haidilao Catering Co., Ltd. to become a member of the Council of the Sichuan Culinary Association; in November, Sichuan Province, Jianyang City, Haidilao Catering Co., Ltd. to become a member of the China Culinary Association.

On January 16, 2008, Haidilao was awarded the "most popular 10 best hot pot restaurant" and "most popular 20 best restaurants in 2007" by "Dianping.com" in 2007-2008; on October 18, 2008, Haidilao became the member of China Cuisine Association. On October 18, Haidilao was awarded "AAA Grade Credit Enterprise of Enterprise Credit Evaluation" in the "First Batch of National Catering Industry Enterprise Credit Rating Evaluation".

On October 25, 2018, Beijing Terra Nova Intelligent Automation Technology Co. announced in Tokyo that the smart restaurant jointly created by Haidilao and Japan's Panasonic Corporation would open on October 28 in Beijing. As of October 2019, Haidilao has a market capitalization of HK$200 billion.

Service features

Most of the stores have self-service seasoning stations with about 20 kinds of seasonings, which you can mix at will according to your own taste preferences; in addition, there are free fruits, which vary from season to season, such as: saints' fruits, cantaloupe, watermelon and so on; and there will also be millet congee or silver-ear soup and so on.

Because there are a lot of diners, often have to queue up, the restaurant provides free manicure, shoes, hand care for waiting customers; free drinks, snacks and fruits. And the waiters come from all over the world, so you can find hometown service with a warm attitude. The service is thoughtful, even in the bathroom, including turning on the faucet, squeezing hand sanitizer, handing hand towels and so on.
