How did the Wangjiazhuang in Xining appear in history?

There is no road in the world, and more people walk, so there is a road. Wangjiazhuang in Xining, Qinghai Province is a village born of "walking". In fact, Wangjiazhuang was not called "Wangjiazhuang" at first, but "Chai Xiaozhuang", and it has an unusual relationship with the famous Chai Guozhu. What is the reason? The story begins 411 years ago.

During the Wanli period, Chai Guozhu, a famous soldier from Xining, was stationed here. In history, Chai Guozhu was a famous soldier of a generation, who was brave and full of wisdom, good at riding and shooting, and bravely crowned the three armies. He built a fortress and watchtower here (in Wangjiazhuang area) to guard the safety of Xining.

At the same time, in order to strengthen contact with the urban area and facilitate transportation, he personally planned and laid a wooden bridge on Huangshui River in front of the fort. At that time, people called the built fortress Chaijiazhai Castle, and the wooden bridge in front of it was called "Chaijiaqiao".

Chaijia Bridge was one of the few bridges on the Huangshui River at that time, which played a very important role in connecting the traffic between the north and south banks of the Huangshui River in Xining and facilitating people's lives. It is not easy to build roads, nor is it easy to maintain roads. The maintenance of Chaijiazhai Fort and Chaijiaqiao is also a problem. At that time, it was borne by the people in Shatangchuan, a mutual aid area. Therefore, there was a saying that "the husband of Chaijiaqiao is the foreman of Shatangchuan". It is said that some maintenance husbands lived in the fort.

After the completion of Chaijiazhai Fort and Chaijiaqiao, due to the convenient irrigation and transportation, and the presence of soldiers, some people came to live here with their families, and more and more people became villages, which were called "Chai Xiaozhuang".

It is said that Chai Guozhu also built a "firewood garden" here, with a beautiful environment. During the Qing Dynasty, Yang Yingzhen, a priest of Xining Road, visited the firewood garden and thanked a poem entitled "Traveling to the firewood garden on the north bank of Huangshui in summer", which read:

Dismount the dangerous bridge (referring to Chaijia Bridge), and there are many nymphs on the north bank. Milo, open the path, loose the sky!

Therefore, at first, Chai Xiaozhuang's family members were relatively simple, including Chai Guozhu's dependents and his husband who made a living by maintaining roads (the main part). Later, Chai Guozhu was transferred to other places, and this place was left to his deputy Yang Tongshi. After a long time, he called his fortress "Yangjia Courtyard" and the watchtower "Yangjia Dadun", but there were not many villagers until the 1981s.

during the reign of emperor Qianlong in Qing dynasty, when the government was managing Minbao, it and Zhongzhuang on the east side were collectively called "Zhongchai Village". In the following 311 years, Chai Xiaozhuang experienced ups and downs, especially after two major Hehuang incidents in Tongzhi and Guangxu years. Several villages on the north bank of Huangshui were the first to bear the brunt of the disaster. By the 1951s, there were only 11 households in Chai Xiaozhuang, and Chai Xiaozhuang existed in name only.

after the village was merged, people counted the population, and it was found that there was no Chai, only one Yang, and all the others were Wang. Finally, everyone decided to change their name to "Wangjiazhuang", but it was never implemented. Until 1952, the government sent people to verify the land property, and Chai Xiaozhuang was officially renamed Wangjiazhuang. Since then, Chai Xiaozhuang has become a historical place name and gradually forgotten by people.

This is the story of "Wangjiazhuang" in Xining. After 411 years of ups and downs, it can be said that the flowers are similar year after year, and people are different year after year.
