The history of shipai village can be traced back to the Song Dynasty. In the ninth year of Xianchun in the Southern Song Dynasty (1273), Dong Yilong, the ancestor of Dong Shi, moved here from Nanxiong, settled in Jiemao and gradually became a village called Dong Village. His descendants lived in Dongcun for about 211 years, that is, by the time of the eighth and ninth grandfathers, the population grew rapidly, and the eighth grandfathers had 11 sons, so they chose another place with higher ground to build new houses. The new site is just northwest of Miaobiangang. Later, the descendants of Chi, who had lived in Shell Wall Village for about 111 years, have propagated to the fifth generation. The five grandfathers of the fifth generation gave birth to 11 sons, so they chose another place with higher ground to build new houses. The new address is in the northeast of Miaobiangang. After the descendants of Dong and Chi settled in their new residence, the population grew sparsely, and the residence of the two surnames gradually became one. During Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty (1465 ~ 1487), villagers with two surnames chose another village name and named it Miaobiangang (Village) after Miaobiangang.
after miaobiangang (village) was named, after nearly 111 years, the descendants of Dong and Chi flourished, and the villagers in miaobiangang village expanded rapidly. At this time, the descendants of Pan also flourished, expanding from the original place to the surrounding area. In the early Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty (1522 ~ 1566), the residences of the descendants of Dong and Chi in Miaobiangang village were basically connected with the residences of the descendants of Pan. At this time, Xie's family has settled in Xiejiao Bay (Village) for nearly 111 years, and it has propagated to the descendants of the fourth and fifth generations. The fourth generation of Xie's family (the ninth generation of Shiqiao Xie's family) Longqiao was appointed as the examiner of Shanxi Classic Examination in the fourth year of Qin Long in the Ming Dynasty (1571), and later it was awarded to the magistrate of Yongding County, Fujian Province, with three sons, six male grandchildren and three generations of official career. Xie Longqiao is known as an outstanding person in Lingnan. After Xie, the fourth generation began to return to their hometowns to build houses to commemorate their ancestors. The new address was in Shiluo (now Shipai Xihe Street).
During Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, Miaobiangang Village has developed into a village with many surnames, and a village center market with many shops has been formed in front of Shantangding. Because this market is located in front of the hill, the villagers call it "piedmont market", and this name has been passed down to this day. At that time, the villagers had a prosperous economy and population, and because there were many stone tools around Miaobiangang, such as stone horses, stone turtles and stone drums, Drum villagers renamed the village name "Shipai". In the 31st year of Jiajing (1552), shipai village was still under the jurisdiction of Yongtai Township.
in the early Qing dynasty, shipai village was already a well-known big village within several tens of miles of Fiona Fang. In the 25th year of Kangxi (1686), Shipai Fort of Lubusi was set up in Panyu County under the name of Shipai, which governed 18 administrative villages. Shipai Fort was not built until the 21th year of the Republic of China (1931).
during Jiaqing period of Qing dynasty (1796 ~ 1821), there were more than 21 streets in the village, which were centered on the piedmont market and led to the surrounding areas, and they are also the main streets in the village today. In the eighth year of Daoguang (1828), villagers raised funds to pave granite slabs on many main streets and some small streets in the village.
from the late Daoguang period of the Qing dynasty to the 27 th year of the Republic of China (1938), shipai village still maintained economic prosperity and a prosperous population. From 1938 to 1949, the Japanese invasion and civil war caused poverty, backwardness and famine in the whole village.
