My views on different cities

Looking back, I happened to divide my life for more than forty years into four segments, with one segment every ten years or so. I was born in the countryside, lived in the county town for study in the first grade, worked in Hangzhou for the first ten years, and came to Shanghai ten years ago. I want to talk about my feelings.

In the 1971s, people in rural areas depended on the weather to a great extent, and they felt a heavy sense of crisis. Perhaps their desire to turn over was stronger than that of people in county towns. Farm work is very hard. Every year, people who work hard in the city are estimated to be unable to stand it. At that time, the policy had just begun to implement the household contract responsibility system, and it was no longer opposed to sideline production, so all kinds of brick kilns were opened. Many folks who had ideas and were willing to work began to grow mushrooms in the slack season. In addition to increasing the number of pigs, chickens and ducks, they also raised rabbits and sheep to sell rabbit wool to increase their income. Agricultural and sideline products were carried to the village (later called town) market to sell, and the houses were designed and built by themselves! In the early days of the reform, there was a scene of great enthusiasm. Our parents taught us' self-reliance and hard work' from an early age. We are not allowed to sleep late in winter. The more clothes we wear, the more we are afraid of the cold. We have to do more activities (work) to prevent freezing, which has laid the foundation for our hard work and hard work. Of course, for children who are in the learning stage, they lack the influence of piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, the basic common sense of literature and history, and the elders' concern and understanding of our spirit. Also, because they are poor and careless, they are laughed at by people in towns for their clothes and rusticity, and they have a great sense of inferiority.

What impressed me most about the campus life in the county is that people in the county are clearly divided. Each individual is an independent body first, and then a relational body. At first, we understood it as' looking down on others, being cold, going our own way'. In fact, it is a manifestation of individual independence, and we don't care much about other people's evaluation. Unlike in rural areas, we are especially tired of living in a collective atmosphere. In addition, people in the county are much more knowledgeable and educated, and many things are unheard of. From the perspective of consciousness, I think that the awareness of small farmers should not be added to farmers. On the contrary, people in the county are closer, self-satisfied, and have a relatively strong sense of superiority. With the passage of time, now we are back in the county, and the county and town have merged. The individual economy in Zhejiang area is in full swing, and the original limitations have basically broken through. At this stage, the four-lane city is the most ideal place to live in China, with a small population, smooth traffic and handy interpersonal channels. Life and work are relatively easy. The only possibility that we have not completely got rid of is blind worship of the surrounding first-and second-tier cities and conformity of values.

Hangzhou is my favorite city. From the perspective of life experience, it is rare in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai because of its beautiful scenery and easy to make friends. Hangzhou people are also xenophobic. It may be good that once they recognize foreigners, they will quickly become friends like locals. Shanghainese always have a layer of foreigners, no matter how good the relationship is. In terms of temper and personality, it is straightforward and straightforward. Their sense of admiration comes more from their ancestors. Whether the old house is close to the West Lake (all the old' dignitaries' live by the West Lake), their grandparents' experiences and circles of seeking jobs will be talked about by them, which is related to the city's thousands of years of history and small area. The younger generation pursues taste in life, but a little different from Shanghai, they pay more attention to leisure, entertainment, eating and drinking than dressing up, and their professionalism is generally not strong. As the provincial capital of Zhejiang, since the end of 1981s, many children of wealthy people in southern Zhejiang have been sent to attend private schools. After that, Er stayed here to tie up with them. It has to be said that the gap between the rich and the poor in the city is getting bigger and bigger, and house prices are soaring rapidly. Since 2111, Ma Yun and others have won back a lot of face for Hangzhou, and talents from other places have poured in constantly, forming an authoritative circle of IT, and the city has finally got rid of the limitation of being only suitable for living and traveling.

Shanghainese are unpopular, and the city itself is mixed with praise and disgrace. In fact, any city has advantages and disadvantages. I want to talk about its characteristics. The biggest feature of being in line with international standards is that Shanghai has the most authentic foreign restaurants in China and various bars with clear classification, which Beijing may not be able to compare with. At night, along the Yan 'an Road Elevated Road all the way to the east, or pacing the stalls and Lujiazui, the high-rise buildings under the lights are beautiful, with a strong sense of urban design, road design and traffic signs are also far-sighted, standardized and efficient. Making Dojo in Snail Shell Seeing many restaurants, clothing and gift shops in downtown areas, the area is very cramped, but the layout is pleasing to the eye and has a high visual enjoyment. I have to admire the ingenuity and delicacy of Shanghainese. The younger generation of Shanghainese are not greedy for profits as imagined by outsiders. At most, the habit of being wise and defensive may come from historical reasons. Since childhood, the housing has been too crowded, and once there is an opportunity for improvement, they will' fight for their heads', the cost of living remains high and there is no guarantee, and they especially like to dress up and spend a lot, so they calculate; The commute route is very long, and the subway bus will grab the seat (the average commute time for office workers is two hours). Shanghai is a city with the most professional norms. Ma Yun said that it is extreme to eliminate professional managers and foster entrepreneurial managers. Being a boss is not the only choice. There are many large enterprises in Shanghai, such as foreign companies. It should be easier to work for millions than being a boss. The norms of professional managers come from the work style of Shanghainese, which is clear-cut, meticulous in planning and strong in execution. Because the division is too clear and the boundaries are clear, mature enterprises are more suitable for their development, and they are afraid to take on too much.

A city can be a hell or a paradise. With the continuous influx of foreigners and the rapid growth of population, the living space of local people is squeezed, and it is understandable to exclude foreigners psychologically. As a small place, whether it is necessary for us to mix here depends on what we want and how to do it. We believe in our own strength and want to make a career. First-and second-tier cities such as Shanghai and Hangzhou provide good opportunities, but it also brings heavy pressure and risks, and we may not achieve anything after our efforts. If you don't want to toss and turn, and want to live comfortably, it is better to stay at home, and the happiness index may be higher. Compared with people in big cities, we are still active, at least we can choose where to develop.
