The equipment and pipeline network of Xiawan Sewage Treatment Plant are now operating normally. The urban sewage treatment rate is 22.9%, which is higher than the target set by the provincial government. The effluent quality meets the approval requirements of the provincial environmental protection bureau.

Xiawan sewage treatment project is composed of Xiawan sewage treatment plant and sewage interception trunk pipes of Xiawan Port and Tongtangwan Port. The oxidation ditch treatment technology is adopted, and the daily sewage treatment capacity can reach one million tons. After the project is completed and put into operation, it can effectively control the pollution of industrial wastewater and domestic sewage in Qingshuitang area, further reduce the pollution in Xiangjiang River basin and improve the water quality of Xiangjiang River.

in the first 11 months of this year, the operating rate of this sewage treatment plant reached over 95%, with a total sewage treatment capacity of 18.975 million tons and an average daily treatment capacity of 63,211 tons. According to the on-site monitoring of the provincial environmental monitoring center station, the treatment rate of suspended solids, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus and petroleum in the outlet water meets or exceeds the relevant index requirements of the provincial environmental protection bureau, and meets the relevant secondary discharge standards.
