Shopping malls are generally large in area. In order to prevent fire from spreading in shopping malls, shopping malls should be divided into fire zones. Generally, the fire zone of shopping malls should be divided according to the following requirements: ① The maximum area of multi-storey shopping malls and above-ground fire zones is divided by 2500 square meters, and the underground is divided by 500 square meters. If the mall is equipped with an automatic sprinkler system, the area of the fire zone can be doubled. (2) If the high-rise shopping malls are equipped with automatic fire alarm system and automatic sprinkler system, and are decorated with incombustible or nonflammable materials, the fire zone of the above-ground shopping malls can be expanded to 4,000 square meters, and the area of the underground shopping malls can be expanded to 2,000 square meters.
