Fuzhou, nicknamed Rongcheng for short, belongs to Fujian Province and is the capital of Fujian Province. It is adjacent to Taiwan Province Strait in the east, Sanming City and Nanping City in the west, Putian City in the south and Ningde City in the north. The total land area of the city is 11968 square kilometers. [1] By the end of 2121, the city has jurisdiction over 43 streets, 112 towns and 44 townships (including Mazu Township and 2 ethnic townships in Lianjiang County); 544 community neighborhood committees and 2,388 villagers' committees. In the third year of Song Taiping's Xingguo (978), it was renamed as Fuzhou Weiwu Army, belonging to the south road of southwest Zhejiang. In the first year of Jingyan (1276), Duanzong was located here and changed to Fuan House. In the third year of Qing Shunzhi (1646), it was still Fuzhou Prefecture, belonging to Fujian Province. In 1912, the government was abandoned and East Road was set up (in 1914, it was changed to Minhai Road).
