A snow-covered mountain close to downtown Chengdu, the scenery on the mountain is unique throughout the year. The main peak, Miaoji Ling, is over 5,000 meters above sea level and is the highest peak in Chengdu. The top of the mountain is beautiful and spectacular with year-round snow. In addition to the ski slopes set up on the mountain, there are also many snow cars, dog sledding and other snow and ice rides.

In the spring of Xiling Snow Mountain, azaleas bloom everywhere, like a sea of flowers; due to the lush trees, it is a good place to escape the summer heat. The snowy period in winter is from the end of November to the end of March. At this time, Xiling Snow Mountain is a good place for ice and snow entertainment.

Visiting Snow Mountain

Xiling Snow Mountain is divided into the front mountain and the back mountain. The front mountain is Da Fei Shui scenic spot, which is a pure hiking scenic spot. The back mountain is a ski resort, where you can ski in winter and sightsee and skate in other seasons. There are two ropeways on the mountain: the transportation ropeway (also called Yuanyangchi ropeway) and the sightseeing ropeway. After entering from the scenic spot gate, you can take the traffic ropeway to the reception center of Yuanyang Pond halfway up the mountain, which is a relatively flat square. In summer, you can play in the water at Xueying Lake, and you can skate on the east side of the lake. In winter, the skating area becomes a skier's paradise.

Take a shuttle bus from the Yuanyang Pond Reception Center to the ropeway station near Xueying Lake. Take the sightseeing ropeway to Sun Moon Lake, which is more than 3,200 meters long. Walk along the mountain path, enjoy the scenery on the top of the mountain, and visit the Bison Road, Hongshi Fort, Hongshijian, Baishagang, and Yin-Yang Boundary. One of the most amazing is the Yin-Yang Boundary, where the two sides of the mountain have completely different views: one side is sunny and the other is foggy. Also, Sun Moon Lake is the best place to see clouds in Xiling Snow Mountain.

There are many hotels and reception centers near Yinghu Lake that offer accommodation and dining services, so you don't have to worry no matter how long you play.
