This place in Macau is actually very interesting, but the limelight in Hong Kong has overshadowed it. So this small series will tell you what is interesting and delicious in Macau. Before I came to Macau in 2118, I thought it would take a long bridge to go from Zhuhai to Macau. When I arrived, I found that the two places were connected, with only a small barrier between them. After crossing this gate, I entered a new world.
Here, the currency in circulation is MOP, and the common language is Cantonese. Besides locals, pedestrians on the road are more tourists and laborers from all over the world.
In the first year of work, I will also go sightseeing with my friends in various tourist areas in Macau, follow the online food guide and send home a large number of meat shops and almond cakes.
It is slowly discovered that these online sites are marked with "must-see attractions" and "must-eat foods", which are places that most locals will not go to, and there will not be too many surprises except crowds and crowds.
As a Cantonese, after comparison, I feel that all kinds of old shops in Macau, such as preserved meat, porridge and noodles, and double-skin milk, are not as delicious as those in Guangdong.
However, the arrival of the Portuguese left a lot of western architecture in Macao, and the combination of Chinese and western cultures made Macao a unique city. It has many fresh scenic spots and exotic foods, which are worth seeing and tasting.
Today, I'll put together a travel guide for Macau, and give myself a weekend. Come and play!
1. Travel Tips
1. Transportation:
The transportation in Macau is very convenient, and there are free shuttle buses between scenic spots, commonly known as "rich cars", which are available at customs, docks and airports;
Bus * * *: Without a conductor, you can buy a bus card Macau Pass at 7-11 convenience store, or you can coin it. At present, the fare is 6mop/ person. You need to ring the stop bell before getting off, and there are usually stops in Cantonese and Portuguese.
Taxis: 17mop for the first 1611 meters, then 2mop for every 261 meters, waiting for 2mop for every minute, and 3mop for each piece of heavy luggage. The streets in Macau are narrow and congested, and many of them are one-way streets, which makes drivers in Macau have a bad temper and attitude.
2. Currency:
Macau uses Australia.
RMB and Hong Kong dollars can be used here, but most of them are charged at 1:1, which will be a bit of a loss. Alipay and WeChat payment have been widely used in most scenic spots.
3. Accommodation:
Hotel: Macau has an inch of land and gold. You can book various hotels in Ctrip at a price ranging from 511- 1,111 yuan, and you can book rooms according to your personal economic ability;
B&B: You can find B&B in Zhuhai and Macau when you book a room on Arbnb. Although the B&B in Macau is small, it is close to the scenic spots. Generally, it is in the living area, so you can experience the local characteristics better and the price is cheaper than the hotel.
4. Weather: Macau's climate belongs to subtropical monsoon climate, which is characterized by warm winter and hot summer, with concentrated rainfall, and its precipitation is mainly concentrated in summer, followed by winter. The climate in Macau is changeable in summer, so check the weather before you go out.
5. Network: I almost forgot to introduce the most important network! China Mobile can open an uncapped traffic package in Macau, but the network speed is slightly slower, which is 3G; If you stay a little longer, you can buy a local CTM or digital communication card in Macau.
2. A fresh place for the minority
1. Classic route: If you come to Macau for two days and take two classic tourist routes, you can finish most of the landmarks.
Macau Peninsula: St. Paul's Archway-Big Fort-Macau Museum-Notre Dame de Rose-the place in front of the Pavilion-Fisherman's Wharf-Mage Temple
_ Zi: Coloane Island-Xin Hao Ying Hui-Venetian Resort-San Francesco Church-Rua do Cunha-Longhuan Portuguese Rhyme Residential Museum
2. Freshness of the minority: if you are free to travel, you don't need to arrange your trip urgently.
Love Lane: It is a pink-and-yellow alley just to the right of the archway facing the St. Paul's.
According to folklore, anyone who walks through the love alley will soon meet with love, and lovers who walk through the love alley hand in hand will have a sweet love. Many couples come here. A few days ago, I also specially brought my boyfriend to punch in.
Crazy Hall Inclined Lane: I was shocked when I first walked here near the bus. It's a short alley, but it's very exotic. There are many southern European buildings with baroque columns, and the ground is paved with Portuguese-style gravel tiles.
On weekends, there will be a creative market in Crazy Hall Alley, and lanterns will be hung on Mid-Autumn trees. Day and night are two different feelings.
Tashi Square: It's just next to the crazy alley, one of the four major squares in Macau. There will be activities here from time to time. In the evening, I saw foreigners doing aerobics here, which is a bit like the square dance in China.
Fifth Street in October: It is a small road. It is said that the cover of the poster "Moonlight on the Fifth Day of October" shot by Chilam and Charmaine Sheh was shot here. There are some old houses on the street. It's not fresh here, but it's authentic.
Wynn Entertainment Center: In the lobby, from 11: 11 a.m. to 11: 11 p.m., there will be a fortune tree or dragon rising every half hour, yes! I was surprised when I saw it for the first time, and there will be many people around. This performance is free. If you are interested, you can go and have a look.
There will be a music fountain outside at night.
roundabout: I'd like to focus on it. It's relatively remote, with few tourists, but it has a sense of comfort away from the noise.
The Korean drama "Palace" in the urban library is filmed here. The colorful houses located everywhere are the biggest feature here, and the sea is a good place to take pictures.
3. Special food
There are many special snacks in Macao, but eating in scenic spots is expensive and tastes mediocre. I recommend several delicious places for everyone:
1. Dessert:
Macau Portuguese tart: Margaret and Andrew egg tart are must-eat desserts when coming to Macao. I will take them to eat when my friends come. Margaret is in Xinma Road, and there are many people waiting in line every time. Andrew is in the road ring, there are relatively few people, and the taste is similar.
Mo Yiji: Maoshanwang durian ice cream. Those who like durian are recommended to eat! Real material, full of durian, Mo Yi Ji is an old dessert shop in Macau, which is found in San Paoba and Rua do Cunha. You can also try other cakes.
tea before the imperial court: it's near the crazy hall inclined lane, and it's matcha tofu two-color ice cream! It's the first time I've tasted tofu, and it's sweet but not greasy when paired with thick matcha ~
MrLady: The most delicious air in Macau, Shufulei, is rarely visited by tourists, but often visited by locals, with long queues, which is enjoyed by adults and children.
This shop is next door to Peizheng Middle School. Most people don't go to this place when they travel to Macau, but Gaoshide is where many Macao locals live. It's only 1.5 minutes by taxi from Xinma Road, and you can go to Gaoshide by bus No.25, 25x and No.22!
Italy comes to pig bag: There are both buses and Rua do Cunha. The most classic is pineapple pig bag, with soft bread and delicious pork chops.
2. Staple food: The brain has been occupied by all kinds of sweets. Now let's introduce some staple food restaurants. When you come to Macau, you must of course eat Portuguese food.
after years of precipitation, although most of them have become Australian-style Portuguese dishes, they taste good. Portuguese chicken, Portuguese-style seafood and Ma Jiexiu ball are more distinctive dishes.
Yali Curry House: Portuguese restaurant, near Macau Tower in Xiwan, with quiet and comfortable environment, moderate price, elegance and characteristics.
boathouse: Portuguese restaurant, next door to Mage Temple, with a nice environment. Maybe make a reservation in advance.
Dumbo: Portuguese restaurant, located in Rua do Cunha, is very famous in the local area. It is an authentic Portuguese restaurant. Dumbo's signboard is very pleasing, and the decoration is artistic. The price is on the high side, and 11% service charge is required.
In addition, Japanese food in Macau is also good, because there are many kinds of migrants, and there are Italian, Thai, Myanmar, Vietnamese and other restaurants, so you can try them.
4. buy buy buys
RMB for MOP to spend in Macau, which is equivalent to a 21% discount. In order to benefit the majority of female compatriots, the last part is specially set aside to write shopping routes.
1. New Yaohan: The only and largest department store in Macau, with 9 floors, is full of cosmetics, clothes, electrical appliances and delicious food. The cosmetics here are cheaper than those in the mainland. Every year in June and October, there will be a VIP
day. Many beauty brands have discounts and send many samples. Buyers flock, and the queue will be particularly long.
2. Sasha: There are many branches, and the prices are very affordable. There are all kinds of beauty masks.
3. Wanning: Daily health care products, beauty and skin care can be bought here.
4.DFS Duty Free Shop: Located on the first floor of Four Seasons Boutique, Macau Road _ Cotai Avenue, it is divided into three areas: Watch and Jewelry World, Fashion World and Beauty World, which brings together world-renowned luxury brands.
5. Jewelry Store: Zhou Shengsheng, Lukfook Jewelry is an old brand in Hong Kong. Compared with the mainland, it is closer to the place of origin and has better color. It is good for giving gifts, preparing weddings and sending parents.
6. Sports shoes street: Go down Shuikengwei Street and go up Tashi Square. The whole street is full of sports brands, including Nike and Clover, and most of them get a 11% discount before the Chinese New Year.
There are also light festivals, food festivals and fireworks festivals in Macau. I'll tell you about them next time.
