If the plan goes forward, the new tenant will become another link in the historical chain of the house, which can be traced back to the early 1900' s.
Initially used as a residence, even after the 1949 school was put into operation, school employees were sometimes placed? These include Woody Harrison, the former principal of Criglersville in the early 1970s, and his family, and Eddie Dean, the current chairman of the board of supervisors in 654 38+0967, when he first came to Madison County to teach mathematics at Madison County High School.
"(I lived there for a year) 1967," said the dean. "The rent at that time was $25 a month."
After it was no longer used as a residence, the building began a new life. In the late11970' s, it was used as a classroom to accommodate the second and third grade classes, according to Virginia Hall, a Madison resident and a long-time assistant of Criglersville teachers. She remembers that it is also home to music and art classes, special education classes, and occasionally ISS students.
"People's hearts hurt when they pass the Maixin machining center," Hall said. "They were sad to see this place abandoned like that."
