History of airport construction
Ordos Airport was originally named Dongsheng Airport. Dongsheng Airport was built in Ordos 1959. Its main function is to cross the Yellow River, and it can only be used for Y-5 aircraft to take off and land. However, with the completion of the Yellow River Bridge in Baotou, Dongsheng Airport's responsibility was not as good as before, so the airport was suspended at 1983+00.
On March 25th, 2005, the State Council Central Military Commission approved the application of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Government to build Ordos Civil Airport. It is estimated that the investment of the airport is 65.438+53 billion yuan, the runway is 654.38+0.800 meters long and 45 meters wide, and it can take off and land Dornier 328, Jun Jun -654.38+02e, Heng8 and other regional planes. The airport is built by Simon Group of Inner Mongolia and Shendong Company. It is the first civil aviation airport invested and built by private enterprises in the Mainland. The construction project lasted for two years, with an investment of 654.38+35 million yuan. The flight zone is 4C, and the runway is 2400 meters long and 45 meters wide, which can be used for Boeing 737-800 and below. The airport completed the flight inspection on June 5, 2007 and officially reopened on July 26.
On July 26th, 2007, a Silver Eagle took off from the runway of Ordos Airport. Ordos, a city with growing economy, has its own airport since then, and the grassland eagle has spread its wings and taken off. In 2008, in the first full calendar year of airport operation, the passenger throughput exceeded 300,000 person-times, and the transportation production index from the original master plan to 2065,438+270,000 person-times in 2005 was completed seven years ahead of schedule. It took two years for the passenger throughput to exceed 400,000 and three years for the passenger throughput to exceed 800,000, with an average annual growth rate of 63%. This development momentum is the first time for civil aviation in Inner Mongolia, and it is also one of the few regional airports in China.
In 2008, less than a year after it was put into operation, Ordos Airport put forward the idea of "turning Ordos Airport into a hub and internationalization" according to the development needs, which was approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the government of the autonomous region, and the reconstruction and expansion project was started that year. Main body of the new terminal building 10.03 million square meters. The reconstruction and expansion project includes extending the runway by 400 meters to the northwest, adding 7.5 meters of shoulders on both sides, making the runway reach 3200 meters ×60 meters, and the elevation of the flight area is 4 days. The construction method is to cover the original pavement with three layers of asphalt concrete, and increase the asphalt overlay on the basis of the thickness of the original blow-flat structure. At the same time, auxiliary projects such as navigational lighting, navigation, enclosure, road patrol, drainage and fire fighting are carried out. The reconstruction and expansion took nearly 15 months, and it is planned to be completed and put into use in 20 12 years, which can meet the annual passenger throughput 120,000 passengers. T2 Terminal has a total construction area of100300m2 and ancillary facilities of 25000m2. There are 1 1 boarding bridges in sequence on two floors, which reserve development space for municipal airports. The expanded Ordos airport is scheduled to be completed in 20 12.
20 12 10 17 As an Airbus A330 roared off the airport runway, the flight test of the reconstruction and expansion project of the flight area of Ejinhoro Airport in Ordos (hereinafter referred to as "Ordos Airport") began. 201210/9, the reconstruction and expansion project of Ordos airport flight area has been completed, and the flight area level has reached the 4D standard.
At the beginning of 20 16, the airport was upgraded to 4E-class international airport, which can take off and land Boeing 747, Airbus A340 and other large wide-body passenger aircraft, and can reserve the largest civil passenger aircraft A380. It is the first 4E-class international airport in northern China. 20/KLOC-The first international airline was opened in April, 2006. The opening of this voyage marks the first step for Ordos to move from an "air passage" to the world.
