The most prosperous place in Erenhot is Huhe Street, which is the main street in the city center, also known as the "pedestrian street". Erenhot has many shops, shopping centers, restaurants and entertainment places.

Erenhot, belonging to Xilin Gol League of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the northern part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, facing the Mongolian port city Zamenud across the border.
