Weihai Vocational College is a full-time public ordinary higher vocational school organized by Weihai Municipal People's Government and approved to be established by Shandong Provincial People's Government and filed with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China*** and the State of China, and it was selected as a national demonstrative higher vocational college in 2009.In August 2016, it was selected as a pilot unit for the modern apprenticeship system in the second batch of the country.On September 26th, 2017, the school was named as the the first batch of high-quality higher vocational colleges and universities in Shandong Province construction project construction unit.
The origin of the school can be traced back to 1958, in October 2000, Weihai College of Education, Weihai Radio and Television University, Weihai Industrial School merged to establish Weihai Vocational College; in September 2004, Weihai Vocational College and Weihai Institute of Technology merged to implement one college with two brands
