A few days ago, with the assistance of China Zoo Association, International Animal Welfare Foundation, China Youth Daily Green Island, Green Home Volunteers and other non-governmental organizations, Beijing Zoo set up a zoo volunteer workstation in Beijing Zoo. The workstation welcomes people who love nature and animals to provide voluntary services in their spare time.
In a healthy society, volunteers are resources and strength that cannot be ignored. In addition to providing people with a garden to learn about all kinds of wild animals, the zoo also needs to provide visitors with more relevant knowledge and the concept of biodiversity protection, and spread the social atmosphere of loving nature and caring for animals. This requires the participation of many volunteers. Volunteer workstations will be set up: service hotline, zoo network construction, explanation in the park, animal protection and biodiversity research, animal care salon and lectures.
Beijing Zoo will recruit volunteers from the society from now on. Applicants can download the application form from relevant websites (see article) or ask for it by phone, or submit it by email (see article).
The service scope of "Beijing Zoo Volunteers" includes:
Explain animal knowledge and ecological protection knowledge, explain animal protection and animal welfare laws and regulations, participate in popular science propaganda work in zoos, answer animal protection hotlines, maintain volunteer workstation networks, and preach animal protection in communities or schools.
Volunteers can choose one or two jobs according to their own situation. All work is voluntary and unpaid. Requirements for the applicant:
18 years old, healthy, living in Beijing.
Each volunteer serves at least twice a month (at least two hours each time).
Voluntary and unpaid dedication, abide by relevant regulations, and earnestly perform their duties.
