Chapter I General Provisions

Chapter II Registration of Practice
Article 7 A nurse shall obtain a nurse's practice certificate after practice registration.
To apply for registration as a nurse, the following conditions shall be met:
(1) Having full capacity for civil conduct;
(2) Having completed the general full-time professional courses of nursing and midwifery for more than 3 years in secondary vocational schools and institutions of higher learning, including completing the clinical practice of nursing for more than 8 months in teaching and general hospitals, and obtaining the corresponding academic certificates;
(3) Having passed the nurse qualification examination organized by the health authorities in the State Council;
(4) meeting the health standards stipulated by the health authorities in the State Council.
The application for nurse practice registration shall be filed within 3 years from the date of passing the nurse practice qualification examination; If an application is filed within the time limit, in addition to the conditions specified in Items (1), (2) and (4) of the preceding paragraph, it shall also receive 3 months of clinical nursing training and pass the examination in medical and health institutions that meet the conditions specified by the health authorities in the State Council.
The examination method for nurses' professional qualification shall be formulated by the competent health department of the State Council in conjunction with the personnel department of the State Council.

Article 11 A nurse who needs to continue practicing after the expiration of the validity period of the nurse's practice registration shall apply to the health authorities of the province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government for renewal of the registration 31 days before the expiration of the validity period of the nurse's practice registration. The competent health department that has received the application shall be granted an extension if it meets the conditions stipulated in these regulations, and the extension of practice registration shall be valid for 5 years; Those who do not meet the requirements of these regulations shall not be extended, and the reasons shall be explained in writing.

Article 13 Nurses have the right to obtain health protection and medical care services suitable for their nursing work.
