Living ------- Taiwan's housing style can be broadly categorized into Chinese, Western and Japanese styles.
Longevity-------- Taiwanese like to celebrate birthdays. After men and women become adults, every birthday is celebrated with a simple ceremony of celebration prepared by family members with vegetarian noodles, incense and candles. Longevity is usually celebrated from the age of 50. 60 years old is the lower birthday, 70 years old is the middle birthday, 80 years old is the upper birthday, 90 years old is the senior birthday, and 100 years old is the period of longevity.
Walking ------ Currently, the most popular means of transportation in Taiwan are bicycles and motorcycles. The number of automobiles, airplanes, ships and trains has increased in recent years, which is more convenient, and there has been a large increase in private automobiles. Rental cars are common in towns and cities. A number of buses are air-conditioned. However, most rural areas are still inaccessible, with sailboats and sampans needed where there are many rivers, and mountainous areas where there are no roads to climb and trek along mountain paths.
It is forbidden to give away scissors, fans, handkerchiefs, umbrellas, mirrors, bells, sweet fruits, rice dumplings, and ducks as "moon meat".
