ACCA recognition in Europe

ACCA professional qualification is obtained by British and Irish laws (Company Law 1989, Bankruptcy Law&; Financial Services and Markets Act), which gives the Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) a statutory job, namely, local statutory audit, bankruptcy management and business investment consultant.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is a member of the Advisory Committee of Accounting Professional Groups in Britain and Ireland (CCAB). Other members include ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI, CIMA and CIPFA. All professional accountants who have obtained CCAB membership enjoy the same professional status in Britain and Ireland, and belong to qualified accountants in Britain and Ireland.

However, in Britain and Ireland, only chartered certified accountants (ACCA), Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ACA), Chartered Accountants of Scotland (CA) and Chartered Accountants of Ireland (CA) have the right to serve as statutory auditors, bankruptcy management and business investment consultants. As long as you have been a member of ACCA for five years and meet certain conditions, you can become a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ACA). ACCA professional qualification is recognized by Britain and Ireland as at least equivalent to the local honorary bachelor's degree in accounting.

European Union (EU), European Economic Community (EEA) and Switzerland According to the mutual recognition directive of EU, ACCA's professional qualification has been recognized by the laws of EU member states, European Economic Community member states and Switzerland, giving the Chartered Certified Public Accountant (ACCA) the legal right to practice locally. ACCA and American Institute of Certified Accountants (AICPA) are now discussing the mutual recognition agreement, hoping to finally conclude that members of the two associations can become members of the other association.

The Colorado Accounting Committee exempts ACCA members 150 credits and experience requirements. As long as you pass the unified examination for American certified public accountants, you can directly become a certified public accountant (CPA) in Colorado, and then you can directly obtain the membership of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

2. Canada

ACCA qualification has been recognized by the Canadian government, giving it the legal power to undertake statutory audit work for Canadian government agencies. According to the evaluation results of Canadian academic evaluation agency (World Education Service), ACCA's professional qualification is at least equivalent to a four-year bachelor's degree in accounting in Canada.

From June 5, 2007 to1October 5, 2007, ACCA signed a global mutual recognition agreement with the Canadian Institute of Certified Accountants (CGA- Canada). ACCA professional qualification is recognized locally in Australia at least equivalent to a bachelor's degree in accounting in Australia. ACCA members can become members of the National Institute of Accountants or Professional National Accountants Association (PNA) as long as they take two more examination subjects, namely Australian tax and law. In addition, ACCA members can also directly participate in the chartered accountant program of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), thus becoming chartered accountants in Australia (CA).

2. New Zealand

According to section 199 of the Company Law: Auditor QualificationNo. 1993, chartered certified public accountants (ACCA) undertake the statutory work of statutory audit in New Zealand. According to the accreditation agreement between the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in Britain and the Association of Chartered Accountants in New Zealand (NZICA), as long as ACCA members meet certain conditions, they can become chartered accountants in New Zealand (CA).

With the continuous influx of foreign capital and the international influence of ACCA, ACCA qualification has been widely recognized by employers, especially foreign-funded enterprises, in the recruitment market in China.

2. Hong Kong

ACCA has signed a mutual recognition agreement with the Hong Kong Institute of Accountants (HKICPA). As long as the members of the two associations meet some conditions, they can become members of the other association. In addition, due to historical reasons and the international influence of ACCA, ACCA qualification has been highly recognized by a wide range of employers in the recruitment market in Hong Kong.

3. Taiwan Province Province

ACCA qualification is recognized by the municipal government of Taiwan Province Province. ACCA members or chartered certified public accountants can become certified public accountants (CPA) in Taiwan Province Province as long as they take the CPA examination in Taiwan Province Province.

4. Singapore

ACCA signed a mutual recognition agreement with the Singapore Institute of Certified Accountants (ICPAS) and held a joint examination for accountants. ACCA can practice locally in Singapore through the certification of ICPAS.

5. Malaysia

ACCA qualification is recognized by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, and it can directly become a chartered accountant (CA) in Malaysia.

6. Pakistan

Chartered certified accountants (ACCA) can directly serve as the qualified company secretary of Pakistani listed companies. At the same time, ACCA members can become chartered accountants in Pakistan (CA) as long as they take the examination of Pakistan Institute of Chartered Accountants.

7. Others

China Macao Special Administrative Region, Viet Nam, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia and Laos also recognize ACCA qualification locally, and chartered certified public accountants (ACCA) can practice locally through the recognition of local accountants associations.

ACCA recognition in Africa

1, South Africa

ACCA qualification is recognized by the South African Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and can be directly certified public accountants in South Africa. According to South Africa's official national qualification framework, ACCA professional qualification is recognized by South Africa as equivalent to a master's degree in South Africa.

2. Zimbabwe

ACCA is a member of the Public Accounting and Audit Committee of Zimbabwe (PAAB), and enjoys the right to formulate and amend local accounting and auditing laws, and directly gives chartered certified public accountants (ACCA) the legal right to practice locally.

3. Others

ACCA qualification has also been recognized locally by African countries including Egypt, Botswana, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, Zambia, Mauritius and Niger, and chartered certified public accountants (ACCA) can practice locally through the recognition of local accountants associations.
