Three modes of providing for the aged in Japan
1. Nursing-type nursing homes: mainly for the physically inconvenient and sick elderly, and nursing services are provided by the subordinate teams of nursing homes. Such nursing homes usually have a fixed cooperative relationship with medical institutions;
2. Residential nursing home: for the elderly with normal physical condition to live in. When the elderly need nursing service, the hospital looks for home care, and the enterprise provides temporary nursing service;
3. Healthy nursing home: similar to hotels for the elderly, the hospital is responsible for the daily housework of the elderly, but not for the daily life of the residents.
Japanese government and enterprises pay great attention to specialization when building various old-age facilities, such as residential room design, household goods design, catering equipment, nursing and service personnel training. Every professional problem involves a deeper subdivision, so the organizers of nursing homes often outsource these details to specialized enterprises. The process of socialized construction and operation of facilities for the aged has led to the development of a large number of enterprises, such as monopoly of articles for the aged, franchise of catering for the aged, management consultation of homes for the aged, and training of service personnel for the aged, which to some extent has formed an industrial form of "nursing home economy" with facilities for the aged as the core.
In the case that 1 out of every 5 citizens are elderly people over 65, how to let the elderly spend their twilight years peacefully is not only a social welfare issue, but also brings a wide range of business opportunities. The phenomenon known as "silver hair economy" is reflected in many industries. Typical cases are:
1. Medical treatment and nursing. The Japanese government plans to take advantage of the huge scale of the medical and nursing industry to develop it into a new service industry to stimulate future economic development. In June 2111, the Japanese government announced "21 national strategic projects to revive Japan in the 21th century", among which "medical and nursing industry" is one of the projects. In the relevant documents submitted in the same period, it is proposed that the market scale of medical, nursing and health-related industries will be expanded by another 51 trillion yen (that is, the average annual expansion will be 5 trillion yen) in the next 11 years from 2111 to 2121, and strive to increase 2.84 million employment opportunities. Among them, the "home care" service for the elderly at home is the focus of future development. ?
the Japanese government also plans to participate in international competition in the field of medical care and nursing through investment in the next 11 years, with the focus on transnational medical services. The document "21 National Strategic Projects to Revive Japan in the 21th Century" points out that at present, about 2 million people from all over the world go to Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore in Southeast Asia for medical purposes every year, and Japan should seize the middle and high-end customers among them. To this end, Japan has been studying relaxing the restrictions on "medical visas", training foreign language talents, establishing overseas agents and promotion agencies, and some enterprises have planned to open 24-hour medical institutions around Haneda Airport to facilitate people from neighboring China, South Korea and Southeast Asian countries to go to Japan for medical examinations on weekends.
2. Real estate for the elderly. Japan's real estate industry attaches great importance to the old-age housing market, and its products are mainly divided into two types: one is the leisure and convalescent old-age housing, which relies on the unique hot springs, beaches and forests in Japan, and uses the characteristics of decreasing population and more spare land in Japan to supply houses at low prices. For example, in Chiba, Kanagawa and Shizuoka in the east, there are many old-age housing projects, and a set of existing villas with vegetable fields and gardens of several hundred square meters can be purchased for only a few hundred thousand yuan, and the developers will also supplement them with corresponding medical, living and entertainment facilities.
