To illustrate this truth, let's first look at this source and folklore. "Fu Shou Dong Hai, Shou Nan Shan" comes from some documents, such as Chai Jingji and Qing Ping Shan Tang Huaben. Chai Jingjing said, "I wish you all the best. May you be as happy as the East China Sea and live longer than Nanshan. " "Qing Ping Shan Tang Huaben" said: "It is a good time to live longer than Nanshan and be as happy as the East China Sea. From then on, the children and grandchildren will prosper and go to Danyong. " These two allusions clearly wrote this sentence. But there is also a problem. Why are these documents written about "East China Sea" and "Nanshan" instead of other seas and mountains? About folklore, "Happiness as the East China Sea" is recorded in this way.
There was a drought in Yaxian County, Zhu Ya County, and people were hungry and cold. They have no choice but to go fishing in the sea. But you can't catch fish in the sea. So a brave young man named Afu went fishing in the East China Sea and caught a big fish. When he came back, he cut the big fish into several pieces and gave them to the villagers. He only has a small fish head. When Ah Fu went back to cook, suddenly an old woman in rags came to his door.
Afu saw it and quickly gave the only fish head left to the old woman, but he didn't eat anything himself. After eating, the old woman suddenly turned into a beautiful fairy. She told Ah Fu that she was the third daughter of the East China Sea Dragon King. It asked Ah Fu to lead the villagers to the East China Sea for three sips of water, and the drought was relieved. Ah Fu took the villagers to the East China Sea to drink three sips of water, and then came back to dig the ground, where springs immediately appeared. In this way, the drought was lifted and the crops were harvested again. And May stayed on earth and lived a happy life with Ah Fu.
The legend of "immortality is better than Nanshan" is like this. Qiongzhou (Hainan Island) was originally connected with the mainland. Then there was a sudden storm, probably because of crustal movement. Qiongzhou left the mainland and drifted into the sea, becoming an island. The residents living on Qiongzhou Island were swept away by heavy rains and floods, and they had no fixed place and were in danger. However, on a high mountain called Nanshan on the island, the people living there are safe and sound. So people flocked to the mountains.
And those who live in the mountains eventually live longer and even become immortals. Although these two folk tales are widely circulated, they both have an obvious flavor, that is, future generations will interpret them according to allusions and their own purposes. For example, the story of "Happiness is like the East China Sea" is a story about "good people are rewarded". Because of his selflessness and love for helping others, Ah Fu not only got the whole village out of trouble, but also married a fairy himself. This is obviously the dream and wish of ordinary people in China.
The story of "immortality is better than Nanshan" tells the other side. The world we live in is full of suffering. Finding a place on the other side can make us live a happy life and live forever. This is the dream of the ancients. It is also under this dream that "Nanshan" has become a place full of dreams. Of course, in historical legends, there are also different opinions about "Nanshan". Some people say that Nanshan is not in Qiongzhou, but in Zhong Nanshan. Moreover, the saying that Nanshan ends is accepted by more people.
Then, why on earth should we say "East Sea" and "Nanshan" in this allusion? First of all, we should understand that "mountain" and "sea" are the two most magnificent things in nature, that is, we should visualize "happiness" and "longevity". On the earth, there is nothing higher than a mountain and wider than the sea. Originally, "Fu" and "Shou" were illusory things, but with this concretization, "Fu" and "Shou" have a texture in our hearts. This way is often done by the ancients.
For example, they use bats to represent "Fu" and sika deer to represent "Lu", which is a truth. Since "mountain" and "sea" are used to express "height" and "width", it is natural to use the highest and widest. The widest sea is undoubtedly the East China Sea. The highest mountain is undoubtedly Nanshan (Qiongzhou Island is naturally the highest in Nanshan). Of course, in addition to this reason, the use of "East Sea" and "Nanshan" also reflects a kind of respect.
As we know, these two sentences are greetings, and greetings want to express respect. In the four seas imagined by the ancients, the East China Sea is naturally the boss and "long". Among all kinds of mountains, Nanshan is the most valuable. Because recently in Chang 'an, there are immortals living there, which is of great value, so it is "respect". In ancient culture, "respect" and "long" are highly respected, so "East Sea" and "Nanshan" are the most appropriate.
