1. How many acres of land does the family farm need?
Family farms need about 50 acres of land. Family farm refers to a new type of agricultural business entity with family members as the main labor force, engaged in large-scale, intensive and commercialized agricultural production and operation, and taking agricultural income as the main source of family income. As an enterprise, farms can be owned and operated by individuals, families or communities, consortia or companies. The size of the farm ranges from a few acres to thousands of hectares. In foreign countries, the scale of a farm is even tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of hectares.
Second, how many acres is a small farm?
Generally, small and medium-sized ecological family farms have three scales: 80 mu, 40 mu and 10 mu. However, the scale of eco-family farms in different regions is also different. For example, the area of eco-family farms in Jiangxi is about 70- 150 mu, that in Ningbo, Zhejiang is generally more than 50 mu, that in Songjiang, Shanghai is about 100- 150 mu, and that in Wuhan, Hubei is about15 mu.
Three or five steps to register a family farm
1. Application: Farmers who meet the conditions for family farm identification can apply to the village where the family farm is located, fill in and attach the Application Form for Family Farm Identification, photocopies of relevant documents of land contracting or land transfer, photocopies of family farm operator qualification certificate and household registration book, and photocopies of family farm permanent employee ID cards.
2. Preliminary examination: the village conducts preliminary examination on the application materials and the farmers who apply, and issues opinions on the "Application Form" for eligible family farms.
3. Review: After the preliminary examination is passed, the rural work department of the village in the town will review the application materials, put forward the review opinions, and submit the materials to the rural work departments of the city and district.
4. Identification: According to the submitted materials, the municipal and district rural work departments shall identify the eligible family farms, register and put on record, and issue family farm certificates.
5. Filing: The urban rural work department will report the identified family farm to the municipal rural work department for filing.
