The main purpose of Chunghwa University is to cultivate the engineering and management talents needed for Taiwan's industrial upgrading and to consider the need for a balanced university education as the direction of planning. The existing faculties include the College of Engineering, the College of Management, the College of Architecture and Planning, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the College of Information Technology, and the College of Tourism, which was established in 2007 to incorporate the Department of Leisure and Recreation Planning and Management, the Department of Food and Tourism Management, and the Department of Tourism and Conventions and Exhibitions.
