It places Chinese cities in the global coordinate system, discusses their status and causes, and suggests countermeasures. Chinese cities are generally in the lower middle of the global scale, the competitiveness of Chinese cities varies greatly, Chinese cities are the first in the world in terms of economic growth, and China has a long way to go in its goal of building a world city. Hong Kong, China's most competitive city, ranks only 26th out of 500 cities in the world. The top 10 cities in terms of economic scale competitiveness are: Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Taipei, Foshan, Hangzhou and Dongguan. The top 10 cities in terms of talent competitiveness are: Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Macau, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chongqing and Tianjin. The top 10 cities in terms of capital competitiveness are: Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Macao and Nanjing. The top 10 cities in terms of structural competitiveness are: Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Beijing, Nanjing, Foshan, Macao and Taizhou. The top 10 cities in terms of overall location competitiveness are: Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Changchun, Macao and Shenyang. The top 10 cities in terms of environmental competitiveness are: Suzhou, Weihai, Hong Kong, Hangzhou, Dongguan, Xiamen, Yangzhou, Wuxi, Dalian and Shaoxing. The top 10 cities in terms of cultural competitiveness are: Wenzhou, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Taizhou, Shaoxing, Dongguan, Huizhou, Hong Kong, Yangzhou and Changsha. Researcher Ni Pengfei, head of the Global Urban Competitiveness Research Project Team and director of the Housing and Urban Economy Research Office at the Academy of Social Sciences, said the 10 best annual case cities were also introduced: Suzhou, Beijing, Ningbo, Baotou, Chongqing, Nanchang, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nantong and Foshan. 9
