1. Become a lake
1 aged Indian guru was tired of his disciples who always complained. One day he sent his disciple to buy salt. When the disciple returned, the guru instructed the unhappy young man to grab a handful of salt and put it in a glass of water, then drink it. "How does it taste?" The guru asked.
"Bitter." The disciple spat.
The guru again instructed the young man to grab a handful of salt and put it in a nearby lake. The disciple then poured the salt into the lake and the old man said, "Taste the water again."
The young man took a mouthful of the lake water and tasted it. The guru asked, "What is the flavor?"
"It's fresh." The disciple replied.
"Do you taste saltiness?" The guru asked.
"No." The young man replied.
At this point the guru said to his disciple, "Suffering in life is like salt; no more, no less. There is only so much suffering that we encounter in life. But the pain we experience depends on how big a container we hold it in." So, when you are in pain, you just have to open your mind?
Don't be a cup, but 1 lake.
2. The happiest man in the world
There was 1 man, who was very rich, but very unhappy, and he thought that since he was rich, he believed that he must be able to find happiness, as long as he was willing to spend money.
So he played, ate, and enjoyed all the affairs that he thought would make him happy, but afterwards he was still very unhappy. When he saw his friends around him laughing happily, he asked, "Are you happy?!" The laughing friend replied, "Happy! I am happy now!" He then asked, "What about tomorrow? And the day after that? Are you still as happy?!" The friend replied, "Tomorrow, the day after, I don't know if I can be as happy." He asked many people who laughed and got the same answer?
One day, someone told him that you can be the happiest person in the world if you wear the clothes of the happiest person in the world. So he searched unhappily for the "happiest man in the world", and ten years later, someone told him that the happiest man in the world lived in such-and-such a town, and he immediately rushed to the town to visit him.
When he arrived at the town, he asked the townspeople, "Does the happiest man in the world live here?" The townsman pointed to the mountain and replied, "Yes! But he lives in a cave on the mountain." He climbed up the hill and walked into the cave and saw 1 man who asked, "Sir, may I ask if the happiest man in the world lives here?" The man replied, "Yes!" He asked again, "Is he here?" The man replied, "Yes! I am!" Excited and trembling, he said, "Sir! I have a favor to ask, I wonder if you can grant it? I heard people say that after wearing your clothes, you can become the happiest person in the world, can I borrow your clothes?" The man laughed three times and said, "Don't you see? I am never dressed!"
There are times when clothes are just a shackle on the inner world. Take off the inner rope, and you will have an epiphany and a happy life.34. TrustTrusting someone can take many years. Therefore, some people even their whole life did not really trust any one person, if you only trust those who can please you, it is meaningless; if you trust every person you see, then you are a fool; if you do not hesitate to trust a person in a hurry, then you may also be so fast to be trusted by the one who turned their backs on; if you just out of some kind of shallow If you just out of some kind of superficial need to trust a person, then the ensuing may be annoying suspicion and betrayal; but if you hesitate to trust a person worthy of your trust, that can never get the sweetness of love and the warmth of the human world, your life will be bleak.
Trust is a living feeling, trust is a noble emotion, trust is a kind of link between people. You have the obligation to trust another person, unless you can confirm that person is not worthy of your trust; you also have the right to be trusted by another person, unless you have been proven to be unworthy of that person's trust.
3. Spreading Happiness
A poor student, Hao Wu De Keli, was selling goods door-to-door in order to pay his tuition. At the end of the day, he realized that he was very hungry and there was only 1 small amount of money left in his pocket. He then resolved to ask for a meal when he reached the next house. However, when a young and beautiful girl opened the door, he lost his courage. He did not dare to ask for food, but only asked for a glass of water to drink. The girl saw that he was hungry, so she brought him a large glass of fresh milk. He drank it down without fuss. He asked, "How much do I owe you?" And her reply was, "You don't owe me a penny. Mom told us not to ask for anything in return for a good deed." So he said, "Then I have nothing but heartfelt thanks." When Hovoud Kelley left, not only did he feel much stronger, but his faith in God and in people had increased. He had turned out to be in desperate straits and ready to give up everything.
A few years later, the young girl was in critical condition. The local doctors were at their wits' end. The family finally sent her to the metropolis so they could have a specialist examine her rare condition. They called in Dr. Hovoud Kelley to diagnose her. When he heard that the patient was from such-and-such a city, a strange light filled his eyes. He immediately put on his doctor's garb, walked toward the hospital lobby, and entered her hospital room. The doctor recognized her at once. He immediately returned to the diagnostic room and was determined to do his best to save her life. From that day on, he kept a special watch on her condition. After a long struggle, he was able to bring her back to life and beat the disease.
Finally, the batch room sent the bill for discharge to the doctor for his signature. The doctor glanced at the bill, then wrote a few words on the edge of the bill before forwarding it to her hospital room. She was afraid to open the bill because she was certain that it would take her a lifetime to pay off the medical bill. But at last she opened it and read it, and there was something on the edge of the bill that particularly caught her eye. She saw the words, "One cup of fresh milk has been enough to pay the entire medical bill!" Signed, Dr. Hovoud Kelley. Tears flooded her eyes, and her heart prayed with joy, O God! Thank You for Your loving-kindness, which, through the hearts and hands of all, is constantly being spread.
