Built in the 11th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1885), it was built by his father Yuan Dexiang. It is a two-story building with wooden structure in Qing Dynasty, with the gate facing west and the courtyard facing south, and a new two-story building in the west of the courtyard. It was Yuan Jiagu's hard-working spirit that was later elected to study in the provincial capital, Jingzheng Academy, and became the high flyers of the Academy. In the spring of 1913, he was admitted to the imperial examination as a scholar, and in the same year, he won the first place in the economic special subject, and was awarded the editing of the Hanlin Academy. In 1914, he went to Japan to study government affairs and was supervised by students studying in Japan. After returning to China in 1915, he served as the director of the Compilation and Library Bureau of the Ministry of Education, responsible for compiling new textbooks for primary and secondary schools in China. In 1919, he went to Zhejiang as a scholar-promoting ambassador and a political envoy.
