Guojiawan Gong Mi is produced in Guojiawan Village, Yayu, Yuping County. The village has abundant sunshine, good ventilation and suitable climate. Coupled with the unique geological soil, the produced rice particles are huge, and the cooked rice is fragrant and unique in taste. In the Qing Dynasty, it paid tribute to the imperial court, and Emperor Qianlong praised it greatly. Specially awarded "Gong Mi", and asked to pay tribute every year. Therefore, Yayu Township is called "the hometown of Gong Mi". Gong Mi in Guojiawan is famous in Tongren and Wanshan around Hunan, and Huaihua, Zhijiang and Xinhuang around Hunan. Many citizens named Gong Mi in Guojiawan. Now the market has been very good, exported to Hunan, Guizhou surrounding counties (cities) and other places. In 2006, at the second Fanjingshan Daoxiang Festival, Gong Mi of Guojiawan won two first prizes of "High Quality Rice".
