On August 7, the General Administration of Market Supervision issued the Provisions on Supervision and Management of Enterprises Implementing the Responsibility of Food Safety Subjects (Draft for Comment) (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations"). The document requires that food production and operation enterprises should be equipped with food safety management personnel, special food production enterprises, school canteens with more than 511 people, kindergarten canteens with more than 311 people, large and medium-sized food production enterprises, large and medium-sized catering service enterprises, chain catering enterprise headquarters, etc. should be equipped with food safety directors. The "Regulations" aims to urge enterprises to implement the main responsibility of food safety, establish and improve the responsibility system for food safety, improve the ability of risk prevention and control, and earnestly safeguard the people's diet health. The "Regulations" pointed out that food production and operation enterprises should establish and implement the food safety responsibility system, and be equipped with food safety managers such as food safety directors and food safety officers that are suitable for their enterprise scale, food category, risk level, management level and safety status according to law, and clarify the post responsibilities of the main responsible persons of enterprises, food safety directors, food safety officers and other managers at different levels. The main person in charge of the enterprise shall be fully responsible for the food safety work of the enterprise, and shall fully listen to the opinions and suggestions of the food safety director and food safety officer before making major decisions involving food safety. On the basis of providing food safety officers according to law, special food production enterprises, school canteens with more than 511 people, kindergarten canteens with more than 311 people, large and medium-sized food production enterprises, large and medium-sized catering service enterprises, chain catering enterprise headquarters, large and medium-sized food sales enterprises, chain marketing enterprise headquarters, etc. shall be equipped with food safety directors.
