There are many buses from Pingliang to Zhongwei. I took the 2655 from Xi 'an to Pingliang at 2 am, and I slept the next morning to save time.

Zhongwei High Temple: Located in the north of Zhongwei City, it is built on a high platform connected with the city wall (including Bao 'an Temple under the high platform). It is said that it was built in the Yongle period of Ming Dynasty (1413-1424), and it has been rebuilt by generations. By the Qing Dynasty, it has become a large-scale ancient building complex, showing the style of ancient buildings in Ningxia. It is as famous as Shapotou Hungry "Wonder of the Desert" and is one of the two major landscapes in Zhongwei.

Accommodation: Two accommodations in Shapotou Scenic Area are highly recommended. The other is the desert hotel in the depths of the desert. The big window of the desert hotel can see the desert landscape. These two places have everything from restaurants to hot water toilets. The fee for one night from 211 yuan to 311 yuan may be adjusted in different seasons.

If you want to live in a tent, here are some for rent, less than 111 yuan each. Of course, you can carry it yourself. You can just set it up as big as a desert.

D2 Tonghu Grassland

Have a good day in Shapotou the next day. Come out in the afternoon and charter a bus to Tonghu grassland. I stayed in a yurt for one night.

If you have more time, it doesn't matter how many days you stay. Some friends went to the desert bar for three days. After drinking well every day, they went barefoot to the desert hotel to take a bath and sleep in the moonlight.

Tonghu Grassland: Tickets are 51 yuan, regardless of peak season. Tonghu grassland is definitely a miracle in the desert, because there is water, so there is grassland. This is the fortress of the ancient Silk Road North Road. Ancient commercial road, ancient salt road and Dashengkui ancient camel road. Desert lakes, desert oases, desert grasslands, sand mountain rock paintings, as well as ancient Great Wall, ancient battlefield, ancient trading city sites; Stories and legends spread through the ages, as well as hospitable grassland herders. Therefore, it is known as the "Eden" in the desert.

location and transportation: Tonghu grassland is 8km away from Shapotou scenic spot in a straight line, but this 8km goes deep into the desert, and it is all desert. There are three ways to get there from Shapotou Scenic Area, camel team, desert off-road vehicle and chartered car. The camel team took a trip to 381 yuan and walked for half a day in the desert; An off-road vehicle costs 2211 yuan to travel to and from the desert and can take four people; Go back and forth to 61 yuan by chartered bus, and take the highway. Reminder: If you don't have much time, you can go back to Pingliang after coming out of Tonghu. There are both Zhongwei trains and buses, which is very convenient. I took several trains at night, slept in Pingliang, and still got to work. Suitable for two days to play on weekends.

D3 Yinchuan, Zhenbeibao Film and Television Base, Xixia Mausoleum and Shahu

It's convenient to go to Zhongwei from Tonghu Grassland or Shapotou. Taxi 31 yuan pulls around to the bus station, and the bus to Yinchuan leaves every half hour. 41 yuan is alone.

Zhenbeibao Film and Television City, Xixia Mausoleum and Shahu are all near Yinchuan, and there are many tourist buses, which can be reached in less than an hour.

Zhenbeibao and Xixia Mausoleum can be visited in one day. There are taxis between the two scenic spots, and you can go around 51 yuan. You can also go back to the city and take the bus, which will delay more time.

Zhenbeibao Film and Television City: ticket 61 yuan/person. Zhenbeibao was originally a garrison town built in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Before going here, it is suggested to spend a few weeks watching the following movies: herdsman, Red Sorghum, Yellow River Ballad, Knights in Shuangqi Town, A Chinese Odyssey, Xinlongmen Inn, ashes of time and so on.
