Chengde is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province, an international tourist city of Hebei Province approved by the government of Hebei Province, and a regional central city connecting Beijing, Tianjin, Liaoning and Mongolia. Chengde is one of the first national historical and cultural cities. 1703, Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty built a summer resort, which became the second political center of the Qing Dynasty. Rehetang was founded in1723; 1733, Yongzheng takes the meaning of "Chengzude"; It gives the meaning of the word "Emperor inherits Heaven's virtue". The first emperor inherited the grace of heaven and earth to educate everything; Set up Chengde Zhili Prefecture, formerly known as "Chengde"; The Republic of China and the early liberation were the capital of the former Jehol Province.
1955, the organizational system of Jehol Province was abolished, and Chengde was placed under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province. Chengde mountain resort and its surrounding temples are the top ten scenic spots, top forty tourist attractions and national key scenic spots in China, and were listed on the World Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO in 1994.
