Tongchuan New District in Shaanxi Province is under the jurisdiction of Tongchuan Municipal Government.

Tongchuan New District belongs to the provincial economic and technological development zone, directly under the Tongchuan Municipal Government, directly under the jurisdiction of the government of Zhengwanji, Tongchuan City, and not specifically under the jurisdiction of Tongchuan City. The new district has two sub-district offices, one town and 41 administrative villages. With a planned area of 1.31 square kilometers, a future urban population of 351,111 and a green coverage rate of 35%, Tongchuan is a new political, economic and cultural center.

As a local administrative unit, Tongchuan New District of Shaanxi Province will be led and managed by Shaanxi provincial government in administration, economy and social affairs.
