Fuquan City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Guizhou Province.

Fuquan City, which belongs to Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province, is located in the middle of Guizhou Province, bordering Kaili City and Huangping County in the east, Majiang County in the south, Guiding, Longli and Kaiyang counties in the west and Weng 'an County in the north.

Fuquan territory was called Qielan State in ancient times. Qielan County was established in the thirty-third year of Qin Shihuang (214 BC). At the end of Qin Dynasty, Qielan State was divided into the old land. In the sixth year of Emperor Wudi's Yuan Ding (111 BC), Qielan State was destroyed in the Han Dynasty, and it was changed to a county, so that Qielan State, which lasted for hundreds of years, disappeared from now on.

In the third year of the Sui Dynasty (583), the original land was set in Binhua County. During the Tang Dynasty, Binhua County governed the areas around Fuquan and Majiang today. From the Yuan Dynasty to the 21st year of the Yuan Dynasty (1284), the first lawsuit of Pingyue was filed in Fuquan today, which belonged to the general manager's office of Kan Fanmin. Pingyue was named after the famous Yueshan Mountain in the south of the city.
