In the winter of the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932), the Air Force of the First Army of the National Revolutionary Army began to requisition land in Tangxia, Tangxi, Gangbei and Xiaogang townships in the outer suburbs of Guangzhou to build the old Baiyun Airport. In 22 years of the Republic of China (1933), Baiyun Airport was completed, and Guangdong Aviation School was moved from Tianhe Airport immediately, becoming the base for flight training of flight students.

1February, 963, the Air Force moved out of Baiyun Airport, and Baiyun Airport was changed into a civil airport. June+10, 5438, Baiyun Airport Extension Project Construction Committee and Headquarters were established.
