historically, xiantang town has experienced many administrative adjustments and mergers. In the 19th year of the Republic of China (1931), it was called Xiantang Town, Longhu Town, Huaide Town and Ximeng Township. In 25 years of the Republic of China (1936), it was called the Western Mixed Joint Guarantee. In the 31th year of the Republic of China (1941), it was renamed Xiantang Township. In 1952, Xiantang Township was divided into four townships: Xiantang, Silk Juan, Xihuan and Xin 'an. In 1956, Silk Juan Township was merged into Xiantang Township.
In p>1958, Xiantang, Xihuan and Xin 'an were established, belonging to Duanshan Red Star Commune. In 1961, Xiantang Commune was jointly established. In 1963, Xihuan and Xin 'an were separated from Xiantang Commune to form another commune.
