Experience of social practice of restaurant waiters in summer

Abstract: When we enter the halls of universities and start to move towards a new life, it is also on the way to society and life. And we must gradually learn to get rid of dependence, learn to be independent, and accumulate life experience in the process. Last winter vacation, I used to work as a waiter in the bumper harvest. This summer vacation, I did the same job again, working part-time in a food stall, also in the catering industry. However, facing different environments and different people, I still have heavy gains. Whether facing customers or my colleagues, I can better grasp the scale, abide by the principles and have a deeper understanding of professional ethics. At the same time, I am frustrated with the bad moral norms in the public life in today's society, and I hope that people can abide by the public order.

This summer social practice, I worked part-time as a waiter in a food stall near my home. Although I worked hard, I benefited a lot. In just over a month, I have learned something that money can't measure, and at the same time, I can't get in touch with being in this beautiful and comfortable ivory tower of school. What I have learned includes four aspects, namely, hard work, interpersonal communication, professional ethics and public order.

the first point is to learn to work hard. In the socialist concept of honor and disgrace, eight honors and eight shames refer to "being proud of hard work, being ashamed of leisure and hate work" and "being proud of hard work and being ashamed of extravagance and extravagance", and the beginning of this summer activity just reflects my self-motivation. Instead of staying at home and being lazy, I went out to ask my parents for money, but went out to work to increase my knowledge, enrich my experience and obtain economic benefits.

Secondly, as a waiter, it is very important to learn to bear hardships and stand hard work. Before the guests arrive, there needs to be a lot of preparatory work, such as sorting out the work cabinets and setting the tableware. The seemingly simple work is very complicated, involving soy sauce and vinegar, tea, tableware, rags, etc., plus the wide scope of work, which is actually tiring and easy to make people lose patience; When the guests arrive, in addition to serving food and helping them order drinks, even the rice is beaten by the waiter, because the bar is far from the table under their care, so it is easy to get tired when running back and forth, and it is really not easy to pour tea, pack and pay the bill. As for the guests leaving, cleaning the table, wiping the table, paving the table, sweeping the floor, mopping the floor and tidying up the work cabinet make the body even more exhausted. This is a tedious and heavy task that must be completed every day. Therefore, at this time, it is particularly important to remember the eight honors and eight disgraces, learn to work hard and learn to persist. At the same time, in today's society, due to a series of reasons such as a very large population base and imperfect employment mechanism, the employment pressure is very great. At this time, it is particularly important to learn to bear hardships and stand hard work. As we all know, training in hardship and becoming a success in practice are stepping stones on our bright future. I will learn to bear hardships and stand hard work in this summer vacation, which will make me more confident in my life. For my dream, I believe that I will not be afraid of hardship, fatigue and resolutely move towards the future.

The second thing I learned is interpersonal communication. As a waiter, there are actually many people to face, not only customers, but also colleagues. We must grasp the scale and follow the principles, otherwise, it is not an exaggeration to be unable to move. In promoting the harmony between individuals and others, we should adhere to the principles of equality, honesty, tolerance and mutual assistance, and at the same time correctly understand and handle the relationship between competition and cooperation. This is very important when facing colleagues. Every waiter has his own desk to watch. If he runs away, he has to bear the responsibility himself, so we must always keep an eye on his desk. However, because we have to go to the bar to order drinks and cook rice for our guests from time to time, we are often out of our posts. At this time, you need the help of our colleagues nearby, let him watch it, and when he needs it, we have to help him in turn. Therefore, Colleagues are equal, and no one is qualified to ask the other party to help themselves, so be polite instead of asking the other party for granted. There will inevitably be contradictions when people get along with each other. No matter who is right or wrong, they should always treat them with a tolerant heart. The waiter can only watch his own TV station because of the drinks, so there is no competition among colleagues. However, when I first went to Taiwan, I was always robbed by another colleague, which became an unfair competition relationship. I felt very angry. At first, I thought about it. Maybe she didn't know it was my TV station. Maybe it was only once or twice, and it will get better slowly, but it was still robbed. This rarely happens, and our relationship is getting better. She often helps me, and I often help her. The cooperation between the two people makes the life of working hard but enjoyable. I think, in the days to come, I will become more aware of the relationship between competition and cooperation. Competition will promote cooperation, and cooperation will also promote competition. Both competition and cooperation need to be fair. If we learn to deal with the relationship between the two, when encountering things, both sides will speak their thoughts face to face, solve problems and abide by the rules, then we will certainly be able to make both sides' achievements by going up one flight of stairs and maintain a happy mood. The third point is professional ethics. No matter what profession we are engaged in, we should have professional ethics, such as lawyers should keep each other's secrets and teachers should treat students fairly. As a waiter, I also have many professional ethics, such as loving my job and serving the masses. What I want to emphasize here is honesty and trustworthiness.

Honesty and trustworthiness is the moral standard in professional life and the focus of citizen's moral construction, and college students should learn to be honest. In the face of customers, we should learn to be honest, which is a basic requirement and a basic principle we should follow. The price of vegetables needs to be clearly marked, the materials should be authentic, and the customers should be informed of the charges, instead of waiting for the payment to happen again. Because drinks are more expensive than outside, when customers order drinks, we will specifically inform them, instead of saying nothing or talking nonsense. This is what I think as a waiter and even this restaurant should do. The other point is that when the guest asks for vinegar and so on, and I am busy with other things at this time, I will ask him to wait a moment, finish what he is doing, and then help, instead of dealing with it casually, but forget it when he agrees. This is also the integrity I have achieved. In the future formal work, honesty is very important to us, and our boss will attach great importance to this. As students majoring in foreign languages, we are likely to become a foreign teacher. To teach students honesty, we must first be honest and understand the great significance of honesty to us. It is not only a passport to enter the society, but also a manifestation of personality charm.

the fourth point is the public order. An orderly public life is an important condition for building a harmonious society, which is not only conducive to promoting the healthy development of the economy and society, but also the basic guarantee for improving the quality of life of social members and an important symbol of national modernization and civilization. There are five moral norms in public life: courtesy, helping others, caring for public property, protecting the environment and obeying the law. However, how many people can do it? In terms of civility and courtesy alone, during my part-time job, I saw countless uncivilized phenomena. The most typical example is a child taking a shit in a restaurant, which is really impolite. The child is still young, so we can teach him without being too strict with him, but the parents are so laissez-faire. Our restaurant has a bathroom. No matter how urgent it is, I always have time to go to the bathroom. It makes people feel helpless and even angry that such unpleasant things happen when others are eating happily. There are also many people who drink until they are drunk in this restaurant. It is normal to drink in the restaurant, but a little drink is enough. Why do you have to drink until you are drunk, until you vomit, until you are unconscious and drunk? In fact, this has disturbed the public order and made people feel embarrassed. Smoking is allowed in this restaurant. However, I think smoking in public places is really unpleasant and has a great influence on others, which is very bad. People who spit everywhere, talk loudly, make noise and play dice loudly are not uncommon. There are so many uncivilized phenomena that people are numb and bored, not only in restaurants, but also when our compatriots go to Hong Kong and Taiwan Province to be laughed at by our compatriots. After going abroad, we are still laughed at by other nationalities. It is really sad. However, we may not be in charge of others, and I can't order our guests not to do these things, but we must do them well, so as not to bring trouble and inconvenience to others, and we can also teach people around us the word civilization. When we learn to be civilized and obey the public order, we will gradually infect others. If others do well, we will actually benefit ourselves, because the whole environment in which we live will also get better, and we will naturally be the main beneficiaries. After we enter the society, no matter who we are, we are all living together in the social environment, so it is very important for everyone to follow the public order, and we should learn the truth constantly in our study, so we should do well and play a role as an example.

For more than a month, my body has been hard, but my heart has grown tremendously. It's worth it to be hard and tired again. This summer practice has really benefited me a lot. I will try my best to practice what I have learned in the days to come. I will strengthen my heart, work hard in my studies, and work hard after work. Communicate with people more sincerely, grasp the scale and follow the principles; Abide by professional ethics at work; Obey the public order, and don't bring trouble to others.
