The Yellow River Tourist Area was built on the barren hills beside the Yellow River in the 1970s. In the hump ridge scenic spot on both sides of Wulong Peak, there stands a tall and majestic statue of Dayu. Legend has it that Dayu used to control water in this area after chiseling Longmen and splitting stone pillars. The statue is 10 meter high and weighs 150 tons. Dayu is wearing a hat, thick clothes and shoes. His right hand is holding Lei, and his left hand is pointing to where the Yellow River enters the sea. The dust is flying and magnificent. In order to further promote the Yellow River culture and inspire the national spirit, the tourist area will build an art exhibition hall of about 10000 square meters along the Yellow River to show the cultural history of the Yellow River and the development history of the Chinese nation.
