Wukesong Sports Center is a stadium designed and built for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and once hosted basketball games. Construction of the center started in March 2005 and was completed from June to 10 in 2008.
Wukesong Sports Center is the first venue in China where ice hockey and basketball can be held simultaneously. It can realize the transformation from basketball court to ice hockey hall and cultural performance venue within 6 hours.
From February 3 to 17, 2022, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics will be held in Wukesong. February 17 Women's Ice Hockey Finals; The men's ice hockey final will be held at the National Stadium.
Stadium facilities
Wukesong Sports Center has an infirmary, a warm-up area for athletes and two cage football fields. Athletes' warm-up area and cage football field are located in the training area, 10 team dressing room, with coach room, medical room and storage room respectively. Four of them are located in the competition area and six are located in the training area.
In addition, there are 1 skates grinding room, 2 match-day dressing rooms, 1 competition information inquiry desk, multiple athletes' lounges (equipped with free wireless network and catering), 1 competition equipment maintenance center and 1 spare team uniform center. There are extra storage rooms, ice cubes and ice crusher near the dressing room for teams to use.
