Description of Zhujia Garden in Jianshui Scenic Spot:

In Jianxin Street in Jianshui Ancient City, there is a group of large-scale residential buildings in Qing Dynasty, which is Zhujia Garden with the reputation of Grand View Garden in southern Yunnan. Zhujia Garden is a family house and ancestral hall built by Zhu Weiqing, a rich gentleman in the late Qing Dynasty. It was founded in Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty, and it took about 31 years before and after, and was finally completed in Xuantong period. The building covers an area of more than 21,111 square meters, of which the construction area is more than 5,111 square meters. The main building is arranged vertically, horizontally and horizontally, and it is a typical parallel and combined residential building group in Jianshui. The house pattern is orderly, and the courtyards are stacked one after another, including 42 large and small patios. The whole group of buildings with steep ridges and cornices, carved beams and painted buildings are exquisite and elegant. The courtyard hall is arranged reasonably, and the spatial landscape level is rich and endless, forming a maze-like building complex. Sometimes there are single tourists who don't know where they are soon after entering the door without a guide. Where is the exit? It feels like Granny Liu has entered the Grand View Garden.

From the pattern of houses and courtyard buildings in Zhujia Garden, it is not difficult to infer the living conditions of the Zhu family in those days.

The garden faces south, and the population is the gate of weeping flowers. On the left side of the street, there are 11 buildings with foolish feet, which are connected with the Happy Valley Corner Building behind them, and are the accounting offices and materials supply houses of that year. On the right, the front is family ancestral temple, and the back is the inner court. There are pools, water stage, pavilions, shaded flowers and trees in front of the ancestral hall. There are 12 stone reliefs and poems and calligraphy on the right column beside the pool, which are of great artistic value. The host must often invite scholars and scholars to gather here, or talk about poetry and politics, and talk about economics: or drink tea and recite the wind and the moon. On the day of offering sacrifices to ancestors and celebrating birthdays, famous Yunnan opera stars are invited to come to the water stage to sing and entertain. At this time, red candles are shining, cigarettes are around, firecrackers are ringing, and the wind is dense, and the string of silk and bamboo is all night long. It is very lively for several days!

In front of the whole building, there are three large studio flower halls, and the left and right sides are Miss Xiulou. There is a garden in front of the parlour, and the flower wall is exposed from left to right, which naturally divides it into East Garden and West Garden. The garden covers a large area, with lotus ponds, trees, nurseries and flower beds scattered in front of it, forming a typical southern private garden with local characteristics.

The residential building represented by Zhujia Garden is an important part of Jianshui Ancient City. It is elegant and elegant, regular in shape, flexible in layout, rich in space, gradual in level, quiet in environment, elegant in color, moderately decorated and unified in structure, and contains profound cultural connotations in rich forms. It is the product of the combination of mainland culture and frontier culture and has high architectural artistic value. After visiting Jianshui, experts and scholars think that such a large-scale and well-preserved residential complex is rare in China, and they all give high evaluation. Sun Tieqing, the former director of National Cultural Heritage Administration, also wrote an inscription: Zhujia Ancestral Temple, gorgeous houses, open tourism, and a wonderful water.

In the nearly one hundred years since its completion, Zhujia Garden has been confiscated several times and used for other purposes after liberation, and has not been repaired for a long time. In 1991, after the Jianshui county government recovered Zhujia Garden, it invested more than 1.8 million yuan to carry out overall maintenance. In October, 1998, Zhujia Garden was listed as the first-phase boutique tourism project in our province, and nearly 8.2 million yuan was invested in comprehensive renovation and reconstruction of the back garden, which made this century-old house glow with historical glory again.

Today, Zhujia Garden has become a tourist attraction with a certain scale, taste and rich cultural connotation, which integrates accommodation, appreciation, tourism and entertainment. In particular, the county tourism department used the characteristics of many rooms in the original building to add 28 rooms, including Mei Pavilion, Lanting, Bamboo Garden and Chrysanthemum Garden, from the four courtyards of the Second Courtyard, as guest rooms for tourists to stay and experience the lifestyle of the Qing Dynasty. The beds, benches, tables, chairs and palace lanterns in the room are all carved in purple wood, which reflects the Qing Dynasty style: the costumes of the doorman and the tour guide and the Qing etiquette of receiving guests make people feel as if they were in the historical life a hundred years ago: visiting the houses in the Qing Dynasty and dreaming in the red building are very popular with Chinese and foreign tourists.
