The Department of Foreign Languages in Economics and Trade has been established for many years with the characteristics of strong teachers, rigorous study and complete languages. Adhering to the motto of "Elegance breeds elites, taste creates a famous department", it has cultivated tens of thousands of excellent export-oriented talents with high quality who are welcomed by employers in the society.

Organizational structure: the department is chaired by the director of the department Fang Yujing presided over the overall work, the deputy director of the department Liu Yuling is responsible for the teaching work, under the basic English teaching and research department, professional English teaching and research department, English listening and researching department, East teaching and researching department, Spanish teaching and researching department, software technology outsourcing teaching and researching department. Faculty: The department has a strong faculty, with more than 50 faculty members and 40 full-time teachers, all of whom graduated from famous universities at home and abroad. More than half of them have middle and senior titles, and there are a number of overseas teachers from the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, Germany, France and returned to study. At the same time, we have also hired a number of foreign teachers from the United Kingdom, Japan, Denmark, Canada, France and Germany to teach.

Featured heritage: each major closely around the "service-oriented, employment-oriented" philosophy of higher vocational education, the main line of the professional core competencies of each profession and the formation of the main line, focusing on the process of education, market-oriented employment, and comprehensively enhance the students' job competence and comprehensive quality. After years of construction, the department has more than 20 off-campus training bases. All majors pay attention to the cultivation of students' professional ethics as well as professional ability in teaching, so that the practical hands-on ability of students is constantly improved, the social competitiveness of students is enhanced, and the employment rate increases year by year. The employment rate of students of all majors still reaches more than 95%.

The department now has a national-level high-quality courses, Tianjin municipal-level high-quality courses each. The students trained in the past have won the special prize, the second prize and the third prize in the English professional group of the National Higher Vocational College Practical English Oral Competition, and the first prize in the National Higher Vocational College Documentation Skills Competition. In the past years, the A-level pass rate of our students has reached about 97 %, and the pass rate of Great Britain 4 level has reached about 80%.
