Introduction to Classification of Exterior Wall Coatings

One is a low-grade water-soluble coating, which is made by dissolving polyvinyl alcohol in water and adding other additives such as pigments. In order to improve its performance and reduce its cost, many measures have been taken. The main products are 106 and 107803 interior wall coatings. The disadvantage of this kind of coating is that it is not resistant to water and alkali, and the coating is easy to peel off after being wetted. It belongs to low-grade interior wall coating and is suitable for general interior wall decoration. This kind of coating has the advantages of low price, non-toxic and tasteless, and convenient construction. Dry cleaning can't remove powder. Because its film-forming substance is water-soluble, it will always leave some traces after scrubbing with a wet cloth, which is not durable and easy to yellow and change color. However, it is cheap and convenient to build. At present, its consumption is still the largest, accounting for about 50% of the market, and it is mostly used for interior wall decoration of middle and low-grade rooms or temporary rooms.

The second type is latex paint, which is made of water as the medium, aqueous solution of acrylate, styrene-acrylic polymer and vinyl acetate polymer as the film-forming substance, and various auxiliary ingredients are added. The film-forming substance is insoluble in water, and the water resistance and weather resistance of the film are greatly improved compared with the first one, leaving no trace after wet scrubbing, and there are different decorative types such as flat light and high light. At present, the decorative effect is similar to that of 106 because of the few colors. In fact, these two kinds of coatings are not of the same grade at all, belonging to middle and high-grade coatings. Although the price is relatively expensive, because of its excellent performance and decorative effect, Dr. Master of Home Furnishing suggested that they occupy an increasing market share. A good latex coating has good water resistance, alkali resistance and washing resistance, and the coating will never peel off after being wetted. Generally speaking (under the same conditions of pigment, volume and concentration), styrene-acrylic latex paint has better water resistance, alkali resistance and scrub resistance than ethylene-propylene latex paint, and ethylene-propylene latex paint is better than polyvinyl acetate latex paint (commonly known as latex paint).

The third is the colorful paint which is very popular at present. The film-forming substance of the coating is nitrocellulose, which is dispersed in the water phase in the form of oil in water, and a variety of color patterns can be formed by spraying once.

In recent years, another kind of fangci paint belongs to the fourth category. Its decorative effect is exquisite, smooth and elegant, and its price is not high, but its construction technology is complicated and its wet rubbing resistance is poor.

Second, how to judge the quality of latex paint

After opening the lid, the truly environmentally friendly latex paint should be water-based, non-toxic and tasteless, so it is not an ideal choice for users who smell pungent or industrial essence. After a period of time, genuine latex paint will form a thick elastic oxide film on its surface, which is not easy to crack, while defective products will only form a thin film, which is fragile and has a spicy smell. Stir the latex paint evenly with a wooden stick, and then pick it up with a wooden stick. When high-quality latex paint flows downwards, it will form a fan shape. Touch with your fingers, genuine latex paint should feel smooth and delicate. Real latex paint has no irritating smell, while the low-grade water-soluble paint of fake latex paint may contain formaldehyde, so it has a strong irritating smell.

Secondly, you can brush a small amount of paint on the cement wall, and the paint can be scrubbed with a wet rag after drying. The real latex paint has strong scrubbing resistance, and the appearance of the coating will not be obviously affected after scrubbing for one or two hundred times, while the low-grade water-soluble paint will lose powder and fade after scrubbing for more than ten times. Latex paint is brushed on the wall, and the authentic color is as bright as new.
