Hubei No.1 Chef School was founded in 1989, and it is the first brand of cooking chef technician education in our province. For more than 21 years, the No.1 Chef School in Hubei Province has always been adhering to the purpose of "gathering world-famous chefs and cultivating elite chefs", taking serving the country's economic development and meeting social needs as the guidance, and implementing one school with two brands: Hubei No.1 Chef School and Hubei Zhongnan (Cooking) Technical School. It has formed a multi-level, diversified and multilateral cooperation mode and pattern covering the whole province, and trained tens of thousands of outstanding culinary technicians. The education and training methods and school-running modes of Hubei No.1 Chef School and Hubei Zhongnan (Cooking) Technical School have become models for many culinary chef schools to follow.

Since their establishment, Hubei No.1 Chef School and Hubei Zhongnan (Cooking) Technical School have taken it as their responsibility to inherit and carry forward Chinese food culture, carefully teaching classic dishes of major Chinese cuisines such as Hubei cuisine, Guangdong cuisine, Sichuan cuisine, Hunan cuisine and Jiangsu cuisine, and teaching Chinese and western pastry, fancy cake bread, western food cooking technology, catering service and hotel management, which have made certain contributions to the development of China cooking and catering industry.

In recent years, Hubei No.1 Chef School and Hubei Zhongnan (Cooking) Technical School have been constantly surpassing themselves, moving towards diversification of education, scientific organizational structure, modernization of school management and internationalization of development goals. It was rated as the International Catering Education Base (IFBAFPNT) by the International Catering Association (IFBA), awarded as the Honest Unit, the Advanced Unit for Enrollment and Employment, the Vocational Training Demonstration School, the Trustworthy Unit for Charging, the Trusted Brand, the Famous School for Chef Education, and the No.1 Brand for Chef Education in Hubei Province by the administrative departments at all levels, and was authorized as the Labor Export Base and the Professional Training Demonstration School. He has won more than 311 honors such as "Gold Award", "Chinese Golden Chef Award", "Golden Spoon Award" in Hubei Food Festival, "Top Ten Vocational Training Institutions in Hubei Province" and the group gold award in Hubei Cooking Skills Competition.
