Zi Xia Palace is commonly known as Lingxiao Temple in the sky and Zi Xia Palace on earth.
On August 8th, the Zi Xia Palace in Leshan, the ancestral hall of the Western School of Taoism in China, was officially resumed and rebuilt with the approval of Leshan Municipal Government.
Zi Xia Palace was first built in the Xianfeng period of Qing Dynasty, and was once a holy place of Taoism in history. Zi Xia Palace is the ancestral home of the Western School, the ancestor of which is Li Hanxu, a Taoist priest in the Qing Dynasty, who is known as the founder of Danding Western School. Li Hanxu Taoist priest was born in Zi Xia Palace, and build house was here. He built temples, sculpted statues, created gods' names and compiled nerves, which made Zi Xia Palace famous for a while. By the late Qing Dynasty, it had a large and complete scale.
Due to many historical reasons after the founding of the People's Republic of China, only a part of the main building of Zi Xia Palace remains, that is, the activity place of Zi Xia Palace: 3 brick houses, about 211 square meters.
Leshan Zi Xia Palace Reconstruction Project is under the jurisdiction of Tongjiang Town, Leshan City. It is located 1.5km at the west foot of Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area, in Bishan Lake Scenic Area, 2.5km from the central city, 31km from Emei Mountain and 131km from Chengdu, with convenient transportation.
The reconstructed Zi Xia Palace will cover a total area of 33,511 square meters, and the planned building area will cover a total area of 6,511 square meters. The investment in the first phase of the project is about 81 million yuan. The first phase of the project will be completed within two years. The reconstructed Zi Xia Palace will be unprecedented in scale, and its architectural style and cultural connotation will also continue the tradition of Taoism in the heyday of the Song and Tang Dynasties, with more perfect social functions.
The rebuilt Zi Xia Palace will be an important pole of the Taoist tourism cultural circle in Leshan and even in Sichuan, and it will play an important role in building a brand-new concept of Leshan religious tourism cultural circle, which will certainly promote the economic development of tourism, restaurants, hotels, culture and other industries in the whole Leshan area and promote the Leshan economy to a new level.
The reconstruction of Zi Xia Palace takes traditional Taoist architecture as the guiding ideology and concept, respects nature to the greatest extent, and does not destroy the original terrain and natural environment, which fully embodies the Taoist thought of "harmony between man and nature" and fully displays Taoist ideas and Taoist culture. According to the traditional layout and topographical features of the Taoist jungle, the main halls such as Lingguan Hall, Hanxu Hall, Sanqing Hall, Bagua Pavilion and Doumu Hall will be built, which are distributed in steps along the central axis. There are three official halls, four imperial halls, Cihang halls and God of Wealth halls on both sides of the main hall. The functional partition is clear, and the layout is reasonable and convenient. After completion, it will give people a feeling of simplicity and elegance, such as being in a fairyland.
Harmonious roads are interlinked, and * * * will build a peaceful Leshan. The reconstruction of Zi Xia Palace will give Taoist culture a chance to develop again in Leshan, a holy place of Taoism.
