what cups with excellent workmanship and sense of design are worth starting with?
We invited four "cup collectors" who lived well to talk about their obsession with cups. These cups still play the role of daily drinking water, but more have been endowed with very personal feelings, like a partner who can confide in each other, and satisfying the beauty of daily use is also companionship.
◆1. "Teacup"
Dunzhu | Dancer
Dunzhu studied dance at school since she was a child. After graduation, she left her hometown alone. After a few years of wilderness, she noticed her impatience and began to consciously do everything that could calm her down-meditation, meditation, incense burning and tea tasting. I decorated my first house two years ago and lived in a home like a teahouse.
/Q& A
Q: why do you like collecting tea cups?
A: I collect tea cups because I like drinking tea, and I have a variety of tea mouths. Different teas will match different cups. The interesting thing about teacups is that the kiln temperature is different from the craftsman's craft, so each cup is different. I will choose different cups with different teas, different materials, sizes, shapes and colors, the cooling and temperature keeping of the cups, whether the cups can gather fragrance, the comfort of the lips, the hand feeling, the presentation of tea soup in the cups, and so on. Try it slowly and you will find the cups that best suit each kind of tea.
▲ There are more than 41 cups in Dunzhu's collection.
Q: do you have any criteria for choosing teacups? What kind of teacups do you have to buy?
A: There are basically not many criteria. If you like it, you have an eye, and the price can be consumed, you will win it. But if I come across a cup that won't be mass-produced, I will definitely buy it. Some ceramists, in particular, only make a few pieces, and they are different every time. If they don't buy them, they will never get them again, which is a bit like girls' obsession with "limited-edition" bags.
▲ Different teas use different cups. Dunzhu said that this is "exquisite" in drinking tea.
Q: which one do you like best?
A: my favorite is a 4,511-yuan Ru Ci. This kind of porcelain is difficult to fire, with low yield and high price of glaze on the surface, so it is very rare. I fell in love with it when I saw it in a friend's shop. The film was beautiful, the glaze color was more moist and delicate, and it was durable and large in size. But at that time, 4511 yuan was my salary for one month, and I made great determination to buy it home. At that time, I wanted to say that the money could be earned again, and the cup would be gone if I missed it. The money just accompanied me in another way.

◆2. "Nordic Cup"
Poseidon3| Exhibition Trainer
Living alone in Beijing, Poseidon has just turned 31, and enjoys the present state of "neither too old nor too naive". He said that he didn't express his desire too much, and spent most of his time at home "tossing", but it was nothing more than the kind of tossing that "moved the cabinet here and the sofa there". After some tossing, he would have some little self-satisfaction. Love all basic models, so the cups in the collection are mostly basic models.
/Q& A
Q: why do you like collecting cups of Nordic brands?
A: I saw a movie called "Seagull Canteen" a long time ago, which told the story of a Japanese woman who opened a restaurant in Finland, taking food as the theme and warming lonely souls. I was deeply attracted by the tableware and cups in the movie. Later, I learned that the cups in it all came from the Finnish brand Iittala, with a long history and exquisite craftsmanship.
▲ among the many brands of Nordic cups, Poseidon loves littala alone, and this brand has a history of more than 111 years.
Q: do you have any criteria when choosing cups? What kind of cups do you have to buy?
A: I like cups with simple style but exquisite workmanship. I think such cups can accompany me for a long time. Originally, it is a small object that is used every day. Warm and simple is the most important thing, so I won't buy anything too fancy. At first, I was obsessed with all kinds of ceramic mugs, teacups and coffee cups. Recently, I like glasses very much. The transparent and bright texture makes people feel happy. I found that the matter of liking will change with time and the state of different periods, so there is no need to buy it.
▲ Different colors of glasses have different luster in the sun.
Q: which is your favorite cup?
A: my favorite cup is my most commonly used white mug, which I also saw when I watched seagull canteen. What makes it special is that it is "very unusual", very simple and easy to use, and can hold all liquids. I will use it for drinking water, coffee and milk. Although I always give them a mission when I buy cups, which cup is used to drink what and which cup is used to entertain guests, I usually use it the most easily.
▲Poseidon's favorite daily mug also comes from littala.
◆3. "Medieval afternoon teacup"
said burning | administrative work
Burning is 39 years old, but there is a girl who is 18 years old in her heart. I love fitness and cooking, and I like all the lively life. It is daily to attend the afternoon tea bureau and enjoy the lively atmosphere of the afternoon tea bureau.
/Q& A
Q: why do you like collecting afternoon cups?
A: The pace of urban life is too fast now. As a middle-aged old lady, I have always yearned for the leisurely and idle lifestyle of European countryside. Once I accidentally saw a photo of English afternoon tea on the Internet, and I was shocked that this is the life I want. Later, I found the photographer of that photo and started chatting with him about afternoon tea, only to find that there are so many exquisite things about afternoon tea, and the cups used for each afternoon tea can be different. There is a unique story behind each afternoon tea cup. From then on, I fell into the pit of collecting cups.
▲ In the middle ages, most tea cups were gorgeous and bright, with complicated patterns.
Q: do you have any criteria when choosing cups? What kind of cups do you have to buy?
A: many collectors pay great attention to the brand when choosing cups, because it will appreciate, but I don't have this pursuit at present. As long as the appearance is beautiful, my eyes will shine. My cups are vintage. In the past, life was slow and people's hearts were quiet. You could embryo and describe them slowly. Therefore, every vintage afternoon tea quilt has a handmade temperature and aesthetic feeling, especially some cups have some charming years left marks and defects.
Q: Which is your favorite cup?
A: my favorite is a medieval cup with a hand-painted design of wild ducks. Because the patterns of afternoon tea cups are mainly flowers and plants, and there are few animals or characters, it is very special. Moreover, its hand-painted lines are very clever. At that time, I thought this cup was mine when I saw it.
Now, many collectors will display the cups they bought in the display case. I don't like it very much. Every cup I use is very high. The weather or my own mood will affect my choice of afternoon tea cups that day, so I won't treat any cup specially. In the final analysis, cups are still daily necessities, so just treat them with a normal heart.
▲ "Hand-painted" is also one of the attractive reasons for the Medieval Cup, because it is unique.
◆4. "Unlimited styles"
Li Pali | Freelance writer
Married housewife, freelance writer, keen to share daily trivial social network heavy users. Li Peri said that her expectation for herself is to be a person with a free and interesting soul, and to hold on to soft dreams hard, regardless of the reality.
Q& A
Q: why do you like collecting cups?
A: actually, I don't collect cups. I use them in my daily life, and these more than 111 cups are just decorations. Seven or eight years ago, when my parents and I lived in Guangzhou, we began to buy cups. Later, when we came to Beijing and started our own family, we became even more unscrupulous. Now I'm actually a little restrained. Sometimes appreciation is enough and I don't need to have it. The unit price of the cups I bought is not very high, usually about 111-211 yuan. Usually, some food cooperation needs to be filmed, and juice, wine, etc. all need different cups to cooperate, which is a legitimate reason for buying, and my husband is more supportive. We also went to pick a beautiful sideboard to put the cups.
▲ Li Pali's cup storage cabinet looks like a fire-king.
Q: Do you have any criteria when choosing cups? What kind of cups do you have to buy?
A: when I travel, I like to visit lifestyle stores. If these stores also have their own brands and happen to have cups, they will definitely buy them. For example, in Seoul, I bought this favorite MMMG.
Q: which is your favorite cup?
A: The ceramic German Krug beer cup is my husband's favorite one, and it is also the beginning of our collection of cups together on the trip. He bought it at first sight, and now we both drink water from it.
FoundMUJI is my favorite buyer's branch of MUJI. The products are all good things that designers are looking for all over the world, and they are brought back or designed directly. In naoto fukasawa's words, "There are already many excellent daily design objects with a long history in this world. If we give them new definitions and values and let them continue to be used, it will be a sustainable environmental protection attitude." And I like it differently at each stage. Recently, I like this rotating liquor lamp, which is often used for a drink in summer nights.
▲ The clumsy Krug beer cup is also suitable for drinking water.
▲ Li Pali's favorite spinning spirits lamp has a special shape and charming glass texture. Art Courseware for the Fourth Grade of Primary School: The Design of Cups
