First, this certificate can be tested as long as you work hard. There is a GIC appraiser training in March and September every year. You can consult the Jewelry College of China Geo University (Wuhan), and there is a special person in the office who is responsible for textual research. Second, gemmology mainly studies the characteristics and theories of all kinds of gems, and it also needs regular practice, more experiments, more trips to the market and more questions.

Thirdly, if you are self-taught, unless you have samples and identification instruments for each gem, if not, I advise you to teach yourself, because gemmology is a very practical subject, and not doing experiments means not learning.

Fourth, this major is certainly no problem, but the salary will not be as good as you think. When I first came out, my salary would not be very high. You should mix slowly, or go into business.

Fifth, you can go to quality supervision stations, jewelry companies and other places. If you have a master's degree or above, you can go to school to teach. Now many jewelry training schools in China need teachers. There are many jewelry companies in big cities, such as Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing and so on.
