Some Provisions on the Scope of the Prohibition of Smoking in Public **** Places in Beijing Municipality was considered and adopted at the 2nd executive meeting of the Municipal People's Government on March 24th, 2008, and came into force on May 1st, 2008. The purpose is to protect people's health, promote social morality, and reduce the harm caused by smoking.

Beijing public **** places to prohibit smoking range of provisions

Article 1 In order to protect the health of the people, promote social morality, to reduce the harm caused by smoking, according to the "Beijing Municipal Public **** places to prohibit smoking provisions, combined with the actual situation in the city, the formulation of the provisions of this regulation.

Article 2 The following public **** places where smoking is prohibited:

(a) the indoor areas of medical institutions;

(b) child care centers, kindergartens;

(c) primary and secondary schools, secondary vocational schools;

(d) schools of higher education and other educational and training institutions in the teaching area;

(e) theaters, Concert halls, exhibition halls, museums, art galleries, libraries, science and technology museums, archives, juvenile palaces, memorial halls and other places of science and education, culture and art;

(vi) business halls of commerce, finance, postal services and telecommunications;

(vii) within the buses of the public ****, cabs, rail transit and other means of public **** transportation, as well as their ticket halls, indoor platforms;

( (H) open to the community of cultural relics protection units;

(IX) gymnasiums, fitness centers;

(X) fitness grounds, stadiums, competition areas and seating areas.

Article III of the following public **** places can be set up smoking rooms or designated smoking areas, smoking rooms or smoking areas outside the area is prohibited:

(a) restaurants, Internet Internet service establishments and other business places of service areas;

(b) parks, playgrounds, and other public **** places;

(c) airplanes, trains, buses, and other public **** transportation waiting areas;

(d) the public **** places, and other public **** places. Waiting room of public **** transportation.

Article IV hotels, inns, guest houses, training centers, resorts and other places of business to provide accommodation and rest services, should be set up in accordance with the provisions of the smoke-free rooms or smoke-free floors.

Article 5 Smoking is prohibited in offices, meetings and other workplaces of organs, organizations, enterprises and institutions, as well as in canteens, passages, elevators, bathrooms and other internal public **** places.

Organs, organizations, enterprises and institutions may, according to the actual situation, determine the internal non-smoking public **** places other than those stipulated in the preceding paragraph, and do a good job in the management of the relevant work.

Encourage the creation of smoke-free units.
