There are many historical sites in Yuelu Mountain, including Yuelu Academy and Aiye Pavilion. There are lush trees in the mountains, and ancient and famous trees can be seen everywhere. Local citizens also like to come here for mountaineering and leisure. Yuelu Mountain is full of mountains and green hills, and azaleas (city flowers) are in full bloom in spring; Summer is quiet and cool; In autumn, maple leaves flow and the layers of forest are dyed; In the dead of winter, Yushu is covered with delicate branches. Every season has its own unique beauty.

Yuelu Mountain is also a huge "Botanical Museum". There are ancient and famous trees such as Luohansong in Jin Dynasty, Ginkgo biloba in Tang Dynasty, Cinnamomum camphora in Song and Yuan Dynasties, and Fengli pear in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Many Liquidambar trees grow in the mountains. It has become a romantic thing to come here to see the red leaves from mid-October to early February in Changsha.
