The former residence of Sanhu in Yancheng is mainly to commemorate three famous people named Hu, Hu Qiaomu, Hu Gongshi and Hu Qidong. Since 20 12, this former residence of Sanhu has been open to the public free of charge. Sanhu's former residence is located in Juan Street, Yandu District, Yancheng City. The former residence of Sanhu was originally located in the north bank of Zhangcun Village, Juan Street, Yandu District. Siheyuan is about 42 meters long from east to west and 32 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of about 4,400 square meters. There are 25 houses built in the early years of the Republic of China. The specific layout is as follows: the entrance hall faces south, with three main halls in the north, a small garden in the east, four on the east and west wings of the courtyard, three study rooms and three granaries in the east, three miscellaneous rooms in the northeast corner, as well as a kitchen, bathroom, toilet and an open circle for storing large farm tools. The whole building is in the Qing Dynasty style, with small green bricks and tiles, 5-column wooden beams and wooden boards separated by mountains. The living room and wing have corridors, red lacquered wooden columns, carved floors and lattice doors and windows. The entrance hall and hall door are inlaid with brick carvings with different patterns and fine carvings. In addition to a small garden, there are trees and flowers such as ginkgo, crape myrtle and bamboo, and there are several lotus pots in front of the wing. There is a public lane in front of the main entrance hall outside the compound, which Zhang Benzhuang calls "the middle lane".

Hu Qiaomu's father, Mr. Hu Qidong, participated in the democratic revolution with Sun Yat-sen in his early years. 19 1 1 After the revolution in, he was re-elected as a member of parliament. Later, with the change of Mr. Hu Qidong's political status and economic conditions, his former residence building gradually expanded.

During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, after the Japanese army occupied Yancheng, a bunker was built next to the western wall of Hu Jia compound. 1942, anti-Japanese local armed forces captured and demolished enemy bunkers and earth dikes, and demolished Zhangbenzhuang 176 main house. Mr. Qidong's compound only retains the main hall, living room and three miscellaneous rooms in the northeast corner, and the rest are in ruins. 1946 during the land reform, Hu Qidong voluntarily donated all the land, which was distributed to farmers except for three miscellaneous houses reserved for public use.

There are three miscellaneous rooms, 9.6 meters long and 4.76 meters wide, with a construction area of 46 square meters. It was once used as a brigade, clinic and kindergarten class. 1990 and 1993 were renovated twice to protect Hu Qiaomu's former residence.
