The torch relay of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will collect the flame in Olympia on March 25th, 2008, which will kick off the global torch relay. The torch relay will pass through all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

The sequence and city of the torch relay route are: Beijing-Almaty-Istanbul-St. Petersburg-London-Paris-San Francisco-Buenos Aires-Dar es Salaam (Wiki)-Muscat-Islamabad-Mumbai-Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur-Jakarta-Canberra-Nagano-Seoul-Pyongyang-Ho Chi Minh City-Taipei-Hong Kong-Macau-Hainan Province (Sanya, Huizhou and Shantou) Jinggangshan and Nanchang)-Zhejiang (Wenzhou, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Jiaxing)-Shanghai-Jiangsu (Suzhou, Nantong and Taizhou) Lanzhou)-Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (Zhongwei, Wuzhong and Yinchuan)-Shaanxi Province (Yan 'an, Yangling, xianyang and Xi 'an)-Shanxi Province (Yuncheng, Pingyao, Taiyuan and Datong)- Rizhao, Linyi, Qufu, Taian and Jinan)-Henan Province (Shangqiu, Kaifeng, Zhengzhou, Luoyang and Anyang)-Hebei Province (Shijiazhuang, Qinhuangdao and Tangshan)-Tianjin-Beijing.

On March 3 1 2008, a torch will be reserved for the Olympic flame to climb Mount Everest during the launching ceremony and relay activities to welcome it into China. When the flame reaches Mount Qomolangma, the torchbearer team will carry out the flame summit activities on any day with the climatic conditions for summit during May.

The torch relay of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games lasted 1.30 days, with a total mileage of about 1.37 million kilometers.
