As time goes by, the times change. Dahua cotton mill, once the leading cotton spinning industry in northwest China, has long since lost its scenery and gained a bad reputation. Only this Taihua Road is still busy day and night, as if people are telling the glorious past of Dahua Cotton Mill.
In 1930s, capitalist countries occupied China market, exported products, especially Japanese products, and dumped a large number of domestic products produced by machine industrialization to China. The products made by domestic workshops in China can't compete with them at all, losing domestic market share and a lot of capital abroad, which brings huge losses to the national economy.
In this context, national capitalists in China have set up industries to serve the country. Compared with the southern coastal areas, the industrial development in northwest China is relatively late, and Xi 'an Dahua Cotton Mill was the first to enter the stage of industrial development in northwest China.
1935, Shi Fengxiang, a patriotic national capitalist, founded Dahua Cotton Mill to resist the dumping of Japanese cotton yarn in China. Shi Fengxiang is not only an outstanding national capitalist, but also an excellent educator. He personally participated in the workshop and logo design of Dahua Cotton Mill, compiled teaching materials, and founded Dahua Textile College on 194 1. This school is the first textile industrial college in the history of modern education in Shaanxi, which has delivered a large number of industrial professionals to Shaanxi, Northwest China and even the whole country.
During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, from 65438 to 0939, the Japanese invaders bombed Dahua Textile Factory many times, which caused great losses to the factory. The main production units have also moved to Guangyuan, Sichuan, but they still try their best to protect the safety of the main factory. During War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, although the production of Dahua Textile Factory was intermittent, the workers in the factory took an active part in the revolution, set up party groups, established underground organizations and pickets, and defended the life safety of the factory and the workers in the factory. During the "Xi Incident", Dahua Workers' National Salvation Association was one of the main forces of the Xi National Salvation Movement. Dahua cotton mill resumed work quickly after liberation, and the party organization played an indelible role.
There used to be a dirt road in front of Dahua Textile Factory, which was named Dahua Road because of the name of the factory. Later, it was widened and hardened in the urban reconstruction of 1954 and renamed Taihua Road.
After liberation, Dahua Textile Factory was reorganized many times and later became a famous enterprise in the northwest textile industry. The created "Yanta Brand" and "Liaoyuan Brand" plain muslin sell well in the northwest and southwest regions, becoming the most famous textile brands in the northwest region.
In 1980s and 1990s, the production situation of Dahua Textile Factory went from bad to worse because the operation mode of planned economy could not meet the requirements of diversified markets. Finally, on 20 18, 10, Dahua Textile Factory was unable to maintain its operation and declared policy bankruptcy.
Although Dahua Textile Factory went bankrupt, it remained as an industrial site, reflecting the site of Daming Palace opposite Taihua Road. In order to make the old factory full of vitality, Qujiang Company transformed it into an art block with reference to the old factory model of Textile City.
Today, Dahua Textile Factory has built a cross-border cultural and commercial community integrating fashion, food, culture, leisure, entertainment and shopping. It has been named "Dahua 1935", which respects history and faces the future.
Nowadays, in my spare time, wandering in the "Dahua 1935" community gives people a feeling of crossing history. Visiting the museum rebuilt by the old factory and savoring the past life of Dahua Textile Factory reminds people of her glorious past, and the chirp of the textile machine seems to be just yesterday. At the same time, the museum also displays some old objects of China's urban development, such as "three turns, one ring and one press" ("three turns": bicycles, sewing machines and watches; "One ring": radio; "Click": camera) and so on. People can't help but feel the rapid economic and social development. Out of the door, walking in the cultural and commercial district transformed from the factory building gives people a sense of leisure. In addition to the fast-paced life, while traveling through time and space, reading in a quiet bookstore, walking in a shop with a long history, and eating something leisurely in a special snack bar all make people feel as if they can temporarily forget the noise of the world and spend this moment leisurely.
May Dahua Textile Factory, like a phoenix, achieve greater glories!
