Cooking Festival is a folk custom with a long history in China. Also known as Xiaonian Festival, Xiejie Festival and Kitchen God Festival. In China, it's called sending the gods. It is said that at the end of each year, many immortals will return to heaven to report their work to the Jade Emperor, and so will Wang Jun, the chef, to report the good and evil on earth.
